As someone who worked in this field for years as an attorney: mandatory minimums are indeed way to low and keeping them so low is an example of slopulism that one should fix. Also, the number uninsured drivers is significantly higher than one thinks and it is never prosecuted.

I don’t fully disagree, but I think it makes less sense in the context of her signing the AWB and vetoing the union bill. We’ll see soon, but the list of signed vs vetoed bills where she offered amendments doesn’t seem to make too much sense to me so far.
