Solidarity with
@helengt.bsky.social
. My heart goes out to all who are deeply affected by the allegations against Dan Norris. Positions of power are a privilege and must be used to improve the lives of others less fortunate than ourselves. This is what Labour values are about.

12,000 people signed our petition to stop the Greens’ plans for four-weekly bin collections. They now say they won’t make the move “at this time” However that’s not enough, they need to rule it out for good.

Just in from mammoth interview session to two bits of news. One that a DV perp got locked up because of something I did and that a vulnerable constituent had a a massive wrongful debt written off after our intervention. This is why I came to politics, this is why I'll just keep cracking on.

To mark the UN international day of elimination of violence against women and girls, we marched through Bristol and held a vigil in solidarity. I’ve been going to these marches for years now, this was by far the biggest.

Violence against women and girls is a national emergency. We need to keep talking about it and we won’t stop until every woman and girl in Bristol and beyond can live their life free from the threat of violence and abuse.

Sigh - classic fact free nonsense. ‘news’ story here totally fails to mention that Tory plans were for fines of £5k (later reduced to £3k) for each missed heat pump sale. What @Ed_Miliband has done is to reduce that to £500. Headline should read “Miliband slashes Tory boiler tax”

So much misinformation around today on who will be affected by changes to inheritance tax - and lobbyists pretending the data isn't clear to obfuscate. We have detailed data on estates so the truth is in fact very clear if you care to look 🧵
