Our 3rd manifesto ask is to use planning legislation to rule out new renewables and storage developments that don’t provide shared ownership or community benefit funds at a fair level. ⚖️ Planning decisions on projects up to 50MW are devolved, and Scotland should be using these powers. 🧑‍⚖️📜

Ask #2 is to use public land to boost community energy. 📈 When new leases are issued for repowering windfarms, community energy companies should have ‘first dibs’. We could meet the target (👇) by transferring 1/3rd of the renewables on public forestry land into community hands. 🎥 bit.ly/4nc2lpD

Our first ask is a target: 🎯 1GW of community-owned energy by 2030. That's 10x higher than now. Ambitious? Yes, but achievable. @rescoop.eu say "In EU countries with such goals in place, clear policy signals and investor confidence has led to significant growth of the community energy movement.”
