a smooth, fist-sized river rock
I wonder how many times in history a person has legitimately had a corkboard full of photos and lists and notes all connected by red yarn with pushpins like a crazy person in a movie. How often has that been something somebody has needed

Doing something called "One Beer January" which is where you do Dry January until you get invited to a reunion at a brewery for all your old friends and colleagues from the company you used to work at who all got laid off when the company went under and you drink one beer there

Trying to figure out a good credit card to get to replace my Bilt card which is about to become very terrible in a few weeks when it goes to Bilt 2.0. Leaning to maybe just getting an Apple card. I only want to get cash back and don't care about travel points and I have an amazon prime card already

I know they say hat makers used to go crazy due to mercury exposure and that's where you get the Mad Hatter thing from but it'd be funny if making hats just inherently drove people to madness

I need to stop seeing the "if i had a nickel for every [X thing] I'd have two nickels, it's weird it happened twice" cliche please. i need ostensibly serious people to stop quoting phineas and ferb

it's fun when you can hear a beatles song like "Hello Goodbye" and think boy i bet John hated this one and you look it up and he did. 15 years later he gave an interview about how much he hated that song. it's cool to be right

There's a showing of No Other Choice that starts in 15 mins that I've been waffling over whether to go see all day. I don't think I'm going to. I already spent 900 hours at the theater yesterday for Avatar

My apartment wanted to increase my rent by $100 a month but I have gotten them to agree to cut it by $293 a month instead. Either I am a great negotiator who knows the art of the deal or they are secretly planning to release a swarm of monsters into the walls to drive me insane

i have become aware of an upcoming video game called Crimson Desert that has a lot of promise, but to me the main thing I know of it is that it's in the same universe as the game that the "Just Like Bart!" Monster Factory was from

The cool thing of Pluribus is you could potentially remake it as many times as you want but just pick somebody else who didn't get Pluribused. In 10 years remake it but the focus is on some Australian guy. Or what if Kim Jong-Un is the only guy who doesn't get Pluribused. Lot of things you could do

It's always interesting to me when a piece of media about a specific thing never references that thing by its name. Walking Dead never mentioned the word zombies, Russian Doll never said the phrase "time loop," so far no one on Pluribus has said the words "hive mind" yet

One thing about Pluribus I found a little bit unlikely is that the guy who makes them fly him around on Air Force One didn't also require a bunch of A-list celebrities to be waiting on him. He has a big harem but none of them are famous and a guy like that would want them to be famous

Metroid Prime 4 isn't bad but it isn't good enough. It's fine. You want a Metroid game to be better than fine

it's interesting to me the difference between online and in real life when it comes to movies. no one offline has heard of even a single movie that on here has already had months of discourse. you would be lucky to meet someone who is even aware there's a new Avatar movie out, much less OBAA

They should come up with things to say everything in the California state flag represents, like they should come up with something for the 12 tufts of darker grass. "The 12 dark tufts of grass represent California's 12 beloved and scenic grassy areas"

The freakiest time of year, if you live in central time zone, is the hour after the Times Square ball drop before it's midnight for you. There are no good signifiers for new years in any other US time zone. Only the ball drop. So it's an hour of limbo
