#spooktober #monster 2, the Barghest! Depicted is the #dnd interpretation, but the barghest was said to come in many forms in folklore. The most prominent is that of a black dog with fiery red eyes. A barghest was an omen of death, and lead a procession of local hounds when someone important died.

I am going to try to share my favorite #monsters for #spooktober in alphabetical order (and then doing repeats). This is the Avangion from #D&D #darksun which is an epic-level Preserver/Psion who has undergone a meticulous ritual, in opposition to a Dragon/Psion who becomes a #dragon.
