Comple…" In South London, not far from Borough Market, you can find ‘The Scoop’!At 50-52 Union Street is an office block development. Completed in 2024, it was started by Lipton Plant Architects and finished by Corstorphine and Wright. It has a specially designed cut-out from the building to highlight the rose window of the Victorian church behind.A traditional development would have completely blocked the view of the church from multiple angles, but this design was put in place with the aim to protect and enhance the view of the church. It, I think, does a great job of drawing attention to a heritage building that might otherwise go overlooked and creating a local landmark. The church dates from 1891 and is a Roman Catholic Church called The Church of the Most Precious Blood.
