Went to Big Ed’s for lunch. They had a berry (blackberry and blueberry mixed) cobbler that was amazing. I think I could have eaten a whole pan.

Good news podcast

In the gym this morning, while doing squats, did my warm up sets. Worked up to 185 pounds. Felt great. Put 225 on the bar. Lifted it off the rack and put it right back down. Tried again after a couple of minutes. Did the same. Just couldn’t handle the weight today.

Afraid to open my news app. No telling what the orange shit for brains did overnight. So fed up with congress not reigning him in. I keep writing and calling. I’m to the point now where I tell them they have to do their jobs. Their oath means something. I won’t give them a vote in 2026

Cheesecake turned out good even it it did crack.

Vacuumed the floors. Set up the sprinklers and watered lawn. Mostly, Just been cleaning up inside the house because it’s cold and windy outside today.

Our much needed rain was a bust. Weather app says we got .05” last night with .05” predicted for the next 24 hours. They took all the rain off the forecast for the next 10 days. Guess I’ll have to start watering the lawn.

Another day spent working in the yard. I think it’s all cleaned up for spring.

Went to Home Depot for top soil and pavers. Rain washed soil away from a flower bed. Replaced it. Put pavers around the edge to slow water runoff. Need to go back and buy more pavers. Limited space in the car.

We have raccoons that visit our yard every evening. Wanted them to have something special so I bought them a sausage and pepperoni pizza with light sauce. Also bought cinnamon bites with icing because they need dessert.

Warm day so I worked in the yard this afternoon. Got a lot done.

For anyone in Raleigh, Clyde Cooper did a soft opening today at their new location in Quail Corners Shopping Center. They are training, redecorating, unpacking boxes before the real opening in a couple of weeks, but the barbecue is excellent.

Helped a neighbor take down her outdoor Christmas wreaths. I swapped out light bulbs in the wire frame Xmas decorations for next year. Hubby didn’t like the colors of the original bulbs. Changed them to red and green and also to LED to save power.

For some reason, BFO didn’t load to PocketCast today.

Over the flu but still weak in the gym. Sucks to lose so much progress.

We saw the Harry Potter play this afternoon. Took me a while to get into it but it turned out to be pretty good.

Going a little stir crazy. Day off from the gym. Raining. Cold. Don’t want to go out but don’t want to stay home.

Are we at war? Did congress authorize this invasion? When does this end? So many questions…

A podcast that normally posts 10 minute episodes just posted a 3 hour and 30 minute episode. Yeah, I’m not listening to that.

I got a Groupon special on BJ’s Wholesale Club membership this morning. $13.50 for a $60 one year membership. Joined and drove to the store to see what it’s like. It closer than Costco. They have similar stuff. I did like the gas price: $2.429 per gallon for 87 octane.

Cooked fried shrimp and scallops for dinner. Craving seafood. When I was a kid, we always had seafood for Christmas Eve. Miss doing that.

Annual New Year’s Day project is replace all the batteries in smoke and carbon dioxide detectors. Done for another year.

All the Christmas decorations put away from outside. All the trees put away inside. Just a few things left inside that are Christmas related. But not much. Ready for the new year.

Went to the gym yesterday and today. Really weak after the flu.

Donated 10 artificial trees to charity. Bought 5 bigger new ones for next year. Already working on the designs.

I’m not taking down outdoor decorations today. Temps in the 30’s. Too cold. Putting away indoor decorations. Hope to get this holiday in the books.

In between episodes of drizzling rain, I took down 3 more trees and put lights under the house. One tree left to put away. Also have to put away the lights around the flower beds. That’s pretty quick to do.

I took 12 Christmas trees down today. 4 left.

Still some decorations up, but the big stuff put away

Up at 7:00 & worked in the yard taking down Xmas decorations. Big tree down, stars stored, snowmen in the garage. Put way wreaths & many power cords. Carried a car load of unwanted stuff to Goodwill. Small trees will come on again tonight. Will still look festive. Helped that it was 70 degrees
