You'll see my shop is a little depleted these days! That's mostly because a lot of my embroideries are out in the world! The MiniARTure show is wrapping up this weekend, but these three pieces are going into the next show, "Into the Fiberverse" at the Otherworldly Arts Collective.

A nice thing about teaching adult community classes? Sometimes students will bring something to share with the class. A student in my knitting class brought in a crocheted bear that needed a knitted poncho. An embroidery student baked cranberry scones, and one of them was my breakfast. I love this.

I'm kind of amused by what I'm working on today. One is my sweetly silly hot-pink field mouse for my class. The other is an unsettling creature that's getting lots of weird beadwork and ribbons and whatnot. I like to think my work is multifaceted...

Me, teaching my Threadpainting class: "So, the mouse we're working on can be any color you like; you're not limited to browns or grays." My students: "Can you do a hot pink one? We want to see a hot pink one!" Peet pressure is a hell of a thing; I'm telling you...

Now that the weather is getting cooler, I can break out some of my lighter fiber scarves to flounce around in! Like this one! Even if you don't knit or crochet, you can make some pretty cool "scarves" by felting down some wooly yarns and adding things to them!!

After watching the last few weeks unfold, I think everybody who wanted to ignore Jan 6 is getting a really solid picture of just exactly how bad it was meant to be, by the people who planned it. And the fact that so much of this country was in deep denial about that? Well, it led us here, didn't it?

Oh hey, ya wanna see my pumpkins? And maybe a few flowers too? The hot weather gave my garden box some extra growing time, so I've been plucking new dill and cilantro sprigs out of my side garden box. And it's giving the pumpkins time to have a few more babies before Halloween...

Ha! When I came home from teaching last night, the neighbors were admiring a possum trundling around on our grape-strewed fence. The grapes are fermenting, so the possum was pretty cheerfully drunk on his evening snack. Sadly I couldn't get a decent picture, but I bet he'll come back for more!

I'm making progress on a new painting...

I'm having a relative drop by, so I've been prepping the guest room/studio. That means trimming ominous plants to just *slightly* unsettling, de-grungifying the bathroom, tucking away about one-third of the skulls and tentacle monsters, and dusting the paints, clays, canvases and brushes off.

Tonight is my first night back teaching embroidery classes! And I finished another little video, to help my students. youtu.be/BRgqVXdYvzc?...

My strange little Batling is done! Now the glue for the backing needs to set up, and I can plunk him in the shop tomorrow...

I was worried that my roses didn't make it through the winter; they took so long to come up this year. But a little fertiliser and lots of water are helping a lot. I think it was just literally a late bloomer...

I'm working on a bat brooch, and people are always surprised to hear that I think smaller pieces are more difficult than larger embroideries. It's because the details are so important, and take a while to do juuuuust right.

I got my physical this morning, and now I've got a little treat for being a good Maus about the blood draw...
