Fixed Ransom’s blue herding ball but the inflator died part way through. Ransom didn’t care. The extra fabric gave him more grips for thrashing.

Pretty happy with the truck repair after hitting a deer in November. Insurance totaled the truck, so I bought it back and fixed it myself. The corner of the sheet metal frame was pushed in worse than I thought but I got good enough by pounding and bending. Good excuse to replace the headlights too.

Seen this floating around and it instantly brought me back to my childhood. People were also crediting this as their intro into lofi beats.

Sometimes I get confused which way to read when switching between comics and manga. But the really confusing thing, when someone posts 4 pics from a manga on social media. Which tile do I click first? Bottom right? Top right? Top left?

Served on a jury last year in an emotional and explicit trial. We convicted him of breaking into his ex girlfriend’s house and raping her twice. We weren’t privy to his previous offenses at the time, but it wasn’t a clean record. The judge just sentenced him 20 years to life.

Another good holiday in the mountains. The New Years was rung in with a cool ice halo around the moon at midnight. Ransom got many many hours of off leash time. I used splitting wedges to make cottonwood planks which will get used around the property. Got the wasabi seed raft pinned in a spring.

Had a good holiday in the mountains. We cleared up a bunch of the flood debris, removed more invasive species, and added more wildflower seeds to the river front. Ransom did exceptionally well off leash. 100% recall and staying close. Here he is tasting sawdust and investigating my work.

Been going through batteries lately and noticed a number of light weight batteries that show good voltage but won’t power a flashlight. I got curious and decided to x-ray a few batteries. Duracell and Amazon batteries are pretty solid. Not so much the other.

Ransom got a new bed. I think he likes it.

Goodbye leaves. Picking up some flood debris is easier than raking 2 acres of leaves.

Water flowing through our campground area. This was at about 12’ high. The record high is 14.5’, meaning this area would be another couple feet under water. So thankful I hadn’t got around to raking leaves yet.

Flood waters are receding a bit. Might be another bump tonight but we should be all good if nothing crazy happens. It looks like at 12’, only the back half of the property gets any water.

Ricky got Ransom to play at the border collie boarder meet and greet. This is only the second dog that he’s intently played with. It was good to see.

Took Ransom to what we’re now calling Colliecopia this Saturday. It was a meet and greet for a potential border collie boarder. Ransom was intimidated at first by all the collies but warmed up pretty quick. Everything went great and he had a lot of fun.

Watched the latest episode of Fionna and Cake last night, and we noticed Manny Jacinto voices DJ Flame. It’s random but fits really well.

Ransom does particular whine when he’s looking for something or trying to solve a puzzle.

Pretty good holiday. Since we had a long weekend, I didn’t stress about time constraints and focused on beautifying efforts. We pulled hundreds of invasive knapweed and reseeded the holes with native plant seeds. The ground froze on Sunday and Ransom still wanted to go swimming.

Watched Zootopia 2 last night so I wouldn’t have to worry about spoilers. Here’s my spoiler free review. It was good and fun. Definitely recommend. I will watch the third one when it’s inevitably made. Looking forward to breakdowns of all the background animals.

Had our annual Celebration of Life event, honoring our friends, past collies, and current collie. I built a 2 story temple from pallet wood I’d been collecting for the past year. People loaded it with notes and we sent it into the ether.

Bought some knock off sonicare heads. They look similar until you get close. The knockoff head bristles are sharp, covered in debris, blue and black contamination in the plastic (recycled plastic), irregular rough bristle shafts. The sonicare bristles are uniform, clean, and have a rounded tip.

"Is it ready?" "I don't think..." "Did I hear it's ready??" "... let me check..." Mustelids are not the most patient creatures on earth. -- I feel like using traditional media again lately. I guess I needed a change.

Huge log floating down river. Ransom kept eyeing logs as they went by. This is why we switched to the creek for swimming.

Here’s Ransom in our creek looking like an otter. We’ll have to do a little more clearing up to make this nicer for him. The main river is way too crazy during the wet season.

River got bigger than predicted. It had been around 6” all summer during the dry season. We had a prediction of just over 5’. It looks like it peaked at 8.36’ Here’s a couple pics at 6” vs 8’

Pretty happy with this latest cl score. Judging from the inside and nearly clean grease tray, I’d say it was used less than 3 times. I’m going to install a quick connect on our exterior natural gas line and never need propane for grilling again. Also never owned a bbq this fancy (or heavy) before.

Bunches of King boletes were popping up around a hillside. Also found a funky looking group of oyster mushrooms on a stump I inoculated years back. Both mushrooms were just a bit beyond the point I’d like to harvest. Bugs got there first.

He was looking at pizza. Stopped by Mod after a walk to the local dog park.

This was immediately after fixing Hoghog. He’s so happy to see his friend again. So many wags.

Ransom was excited to talk with Hoghog again after I fixed its grunter.

Pizza Trip! Took Ransom into town for pizza. He was very excited about getting to sit in the front seat. He was even more excited when he found out I hunted a whole pizza to share with the pack.

Ransom working on stay. I usually make him wait at the top of the river bank so he doesn’t knock me over. This is his swimming pool. If he were to ever disappear, this is where I’d look for him.

Spent the weekend at the Physic Salamander Festival and caught most of the shows. I’ve seen the Flaming Lips more times than I can remember and their shows are always a spectacle, always a lot of fun.
