@billkristolbulwark.bsky.social It is a consistent trait of the autocrats that the the opinions of the people affected: Ukrainians, Taiwanese, Venezuelans or Greenlanders are irrelevant.

So we are entering a time of nuclear proliferation. The only way small countries (Japan, South Korea, Brazil, Saudi Arabia Mexico etc.) can limit the bullying of bigger ones is by having their own nuclear deterrent - see North Korea for details.

@billkristolbulwark.bsky.social This stands to be one of the great betrayals of history. US support in 2022 enabled Ukraine to fight off the initial attack but they have lost huge numbers killed to hold back continuing attacks. They will all have died in vain.
