It's been nearly 15 years since an old friend died by suicide. We spoke just a few weeks before his death. I still haven't stopped wondering if what I said to him contributed to it. On the other hand life sucks & I often feel like I can understand why anyone does it.

Went & caught a matinee of "Project Hail Mary" yesterday. Awesome movie. Highly recommend. I will say though that it helped a lot that I'd read the book. But you'll still love it even if you haven't.

Saw a cardiologist today. One of the 3 electrical signals to my heart is weak. My father (now 83) & grandfather (lived to 85) both had the same condition. Anyway, cardiologist says my heart is fine. Also, I finally got some semblance of relief from my gastritis. I feel tons better now!

Recently hung out with an old work friend I hadn't seen in 15 years. We spent over 2 hours talking about life, existentialism, & relationships. The conversation flowed so easily & naturally... it just made me wish I were more of a friend when I had the opportunity, before I moved so far away.

Yesterday I went to the doc for an irregular heartbeat I'd been experiencing for 3 days. After 7 hours of tests they got nothing for me & sent me home. That night (last night) I dreamt about someone I managed 18 years ago & who died unexpectedly a few years later. Life is... so unnecessary.
