More aurora activity is expected tonight! But our chances of seeing the northern lights in our region don't look very good... Last night's breaks in the clouds allowed people to see the light show, but with tonight's cloud forecast viewing looks less likely.

Our next big system is still several days away, but this will likely be bringing us some more wintry weather. This looks like it will be a mixed precipitation system, starting as snow/mix late Saturday. It will then be changing to valley rain/mix during the day Sunday before turning back to snow.

A First Alert Weather Day has been called for the rest of the evening. This is due to the refreezing of melted snow and snow blowing onto roadways, creating slippery travel conditions for the evening commute. This is resulting in many traffic delays, accidents, and hazards

Jack Frost came to visit yesterday evening and he's here to stay today!❄ Some more snow showers will continue on and off through the day, especially in the mountain areas. And it is COLD! Temperatures today will only be in the upper 20s to low 30s with wind chills in the teens and 20s.

An end to the 40-day government shutdown is in sight as a group of moderate Democrats agreed to a path forward. The group agreed to move forward without a guaranteed extension of health care subsidies, creating tension with others in the party who wanted to continue the fight. Full story:

This morning's wet weather is slowly tapering off, but more showers return later. The showers will start as rain but as temperatures drop, they'll turn to snow through the Champlain Valley and North Central Vermont. Northern New York will continue to see snow showers as well.

As you head out the door this morning, you'll likely find wet roads through most of our region but also some icy roads in the North Country where temperatures remain below freezing
