His resume listed EQ, decision-making, + strategic thinking as skills. Today’s actions told us otherwise. EQ isn’t about appearing composed, it’s abt how we regulate impulses + manage stress. A reminder, the most dangerous leaders are often the ones who think they’re in control.

Let’s talk about Impulse Control. It’s a core skill of emotionally intelligent leadership. When leaders don’t take a pause, they confuse reactivity w decisiveness. Impulse control is what separates emotional maturity from emotional mess and is the EQ that keeps power from turning reckless.

Two types of people: 1) trusts, until given a reason not to 2) don’t trust, until shown they can be trusted Either way, trust must be earned.

Rick on CNBC is wrong. People with low EQ often struggle to: Read the room Pause before reacting Handle disagreement without defensiveness And they make horrible business partners. A business partner who can’t evolve is a liability, not an asset.

I spent a lot more time than usual on LinkedIn this week. And there’s just so much to be desired with that app.
