I had shoulder surgery a little over 2 weeks ago. I’m still going out to shows at least once a week. I won’t see as many bands this month as I did in Jan but I’m still getting out there. Sure, everyone thinks I’m someone’s injured uncle that came to the show, but I’m having fun.

My shoulder surgery / labrum repair used a tiny bit of Kevlar so now I assume I’m a tiny bit bulletproof.

In the mail today I got a new t-shirt from a band I really like. I decided to wear it out to the show I’m going to, you know to break it in and look cool. Now I’m in the audience and the lead singer of that band is here too and I feel like an enormous dork.

Just got my VO2 Max up to 41 (it started at 34). My fitness age is now 3 years younger than my actual age. Both are new personal bests. If you don’t know what any of that means just know it took a lot of work.

Jeep ownership is so frustrating it’s made me actually post on Reddit.

I really like the way certain bands sound live so when I can I rip the audio and make a playlist from a performance I really like. Now I've started making album covers for those playlists. I'm sure I'm fine.

I was supposed to have shoulder surgery today but there was a problem with my insurance so it got postponed. So instead I went to see Fuzz at The Bellwether.

It's not everyday you can go to a coffee shop and buy a cup of coffee and Fugazi's Repeater on transparent blue vinyl but it is something I did this morning.

I managed to put together a day trip for myself that will involve going to a coffee shop / record store, hiking to a scenic destination, eating at an all vegan “steakhouse” and seeing 2 bands I really like. Kinda nailed it.

Finally used up all the Amoeba store credit I had from some trade ins I did 11 years ago. 2015 Travis got rid of some bluerays so that 2026 Travis could have Fugazi's Red Medicine on transparent red vinyl.

Hiked Mt. Lukens today AKA the highest peak within LA city limits. 11.48 miles round trip with 2,862 feet of elevation gain. I took the first 2 photos, my friend Steve took the last 2 photos. I’m not one of those “set up a camera and act like it’s not there” people.

Still looking for a work and so far there’s no listing for a job that will pay me to go on hikes, collect records, and go see bands live. Anyway, I’ll keep looking. I also do voices if that helps.

Went and visited an old friend for the first time in over a year.

It’s wild that caffinated beverages are just available at any hour. Someone gave me a random energy drink at like 8 PM and at 1 AM I was wide awake despertely convinced I needed to buy every Fugazi record on vinyl. Anyway so I have a nice selection of Fugazi records on vinyl comming.

I have a friend that any time he asks me about a show I went to he says, “I’ve never even heard of that band or that venue.” So now I just make shit up to confuse him. “Last night The Molly Diggers played at The Spigot and Brett Dylan sat in so they played the entire Unfounded Stalactite album!”

Despite it being sold out I was still able to get one of the colored vinyl versions of the Levitation Sessions from Ty Segall & Freedom Band.

It’s fine I’ve just been buying the wrong size shoes for more than half my life.

My favorite thing about going to see bands play is you can be out to see a band you really like and then standing right next to you is a member of another band that you just spent all day listening to.

I got a record player for Christmas and I thought I had been casually collecting records here and there for a short time leading up to that. Turns out, nope. Non-record player owner Travis has been hoarding vinyl since the mid 90’s. Just found my stash.

Good News: my Jeep will now only possibly catch fire for one reason as opposed to two.
