Heartbreaking to hear that shots were fired at UCCS Monday. Students shouldn’t have to fear gun violence in the place where they learn and live. A bill we passed in 2024 prohibits firearms in sensitive spaces, such as public universities, though this policy does not take effect at UCCS until June.

Karman Line annexation defeated in a landslide! I see this as a death knell for low-density sprawl. I'm sure some number of these votes are just anti-growth, and we'll continue to negotiate with those folks. But it is a decisive rejection of endless expansion & that's very exciting!
