I've been playing around with heaven studio, a software that lets you create your own custom rhythm heaven remixes (and play other people's). it has a pretty dedicated community, has most of the pre-existing minigames built in, and is shockingly easy to learn maybe I'll try making some of my own 👀

10) TIMINGooo! (Switch) a Rhythm Heaven-inspired game by MAGES. it has a light(hearted) story, where you’re trying to prove your worth through rhythm to get out of hell. I have gripes with the quality of some the minigames but it’s still a fun enough time. there’s some good art here too.

Neptunia VII really has just been incredible so far. the whole thing has a new coat of paint that they DESPERATELY needed after the Re;Birth games. there are so many fresh new ideas being thrown around both in terms of the visuals and the gameplay. it still feels like Neptunia but in a unique way

9) Disgaea Infinite (PSP, played on Vita) this is a VN spinoff focused on the D1 cast (+ a couple more). you possess people with the MC prinny to see different perspectives/routes. it’s chalk full of humor, charm, and off-the-wall shenanigans with the old sprite assets. just a ton of fun all around

8) Akiba's Trip: Hellbound & Debriefed (PC) this game is ROUGH, but at its heart is a surprisingly serious and sincere story. it also has almost none of the suggestiveness that its main mechanic of stripping people would lead you to believe. you can tell there was a lot of love put in here
