Started filming a massive video for my YouTube channel last night going through my entire DVD collection. I’m about half way done and it’s already clocking in at an hour and 45 minutes! Yeah, I think I’m going to have to make this video 2 parts! I have a lot of movies!

Now watching a double feature of Gosford Park and The Importance of Being Ernest. I saw both when they were released but cannot remember either at all.

I can’t take a list of greatest directors of all time seriously when it leaves off the likes of Frank Capra, John Ford, William Wyler, and Michael Curtiz.

I decided to start the year by rewatching favorite film series’s. I began with Harry Potter as I’ve never watched the entire series in succession. Today I’m finishing the last 2 films and just realized it’s also the anniversary of Alan Rickman’s death. Wands raised for you, Alan!

Tonight’s Holiday Movie: In the Good Old Summertime. Despite the title, most of this takes place during Christmas time. If you’ve never seen this, it’s a lovely musical remake of The Shop Around the Corner.

Tonight’s Holiday Movie: Last Christmas. Go in with the proper expectations and I think most will enjoy this. It gets me every time!!

What’s everyone’s Christmas music preferences? My faves to listen to are Bing Crosby, Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Michael Bublé, Harry Connick Jr., Nat King Cole, Ray Conniff Singers, Andy Williams, Johnny Mathis, Perry Como, Tony Bennett, & The Andrews Sisters to name a few.

Tonight’s Holiday Movie: The Bishop’s Wife. Such a lovely film. I wish they still made movies like this.

Tonight’s Holiday Movie: The Family Stone. The plot of this is a bit bonkers and that one scene is peak discomfort (when you know, you know). But I still kind of love it & the end gets to me because I’m a sentimental sap.

Tonight’s Holiday Movie: Miracle on 34th Street. My second favorite Christmas movie of all time. You can’t get more than classic than this!!

Tonight’s Holiday Movie: The Santa Clause. My favorite modern Santa movie and the only one from the series I love.

Tonight’s Holiday Movie: Fred Claus. It’s a shame this is so underrated. I remember me and a friend in college going to see this in theaters. We both loved it and I still do.

I found Growing Pains streaming so I’m watching a few Christmas episodes. I’m on the season with DiCaprio. Haven’t seen this in forever!!

Tonight’s Holiday Movie: Miracle on 34th Street (1994). I always watch the remake first during the season and save the original because it’s the better one. But I do love the remake. It’s delightful.

Tonight’s Holiday Movie: Desk Set. Definitely an unconventional choice for this year’s list, but a great one. Also, I was today years old when I realized the screenwriters are Phoebe and Henry Ephron- parents to Nora & Delia. No wonder it’s my favorite Hepburn & Tracy!

Tonight’s Holiday Movie: A Castle for Christmas! If you haven’t seen this lovely film, I highly recommend it for all the romantics out there, especially if you like movies set in the UK, in this case, Scotland.
