I have that same hesitation with PS5 games but for Steam it's not an issue for me because I've seen over time I'll be able to access these games on any future hardware I buy.

this video really clicked with me, even though i feel completely different about digital games than jon does. put simply: who cares about infinite choice in games when you have limited time? i have more games in my steam library than i will ever play in my lifetime.

i think maybe if someone asked me if it was a good idea to buy a bunch of video game studios i might say not really

expedition 33 is neat but i'm dropping the difficulty to story mode. the parry windows are brutal, especially for someone streaming the game from his pc.

after about 4 months on bazzite... i think i might be caving and going back to windows. i've spent the last couple days trying to get my pc->deck streaming situation going and i've run into SO many issues that i feel ill equipped to troubleshoot.

got my steam deck hooked into a wired network and navigated some weird setup quirks with sunshine and moonlight, and now i've got console quality gaming from my main PC on my living room TV. it's not frictionless, but when it works, it works great!

I'm not giving up on the SM yet, but I'm kind of hoping that I don't get the chance to buy right away. I'm going to lean into a streaming setup from my main PC to my docked SD and see if I can make that work for now.

I've talked a big game about getting the Steam Machine. I'm wavering. I did the math, realized how much I would still have to pay even for the cheapest option, after what I've saved up.
