I finally got my first win in Final Girl yesterday, and it felt great. The amount in which the game is left to luck is a little disappointing, but there are some good strategies for luck mitigation.

2026 media goals: 1) only stay subscribed to podcasts i actually intend to stay up to date on - no more backlogs 2) actually one last backlog - get current on MBMBAM and stay there 4) find a way to start enjoying board games again

I'm wondering how many people will experience the story of Red Dead redemption for the first time on a mobile phone.

i'm declaring 2026 the year of the backlog. i'm going to put 6 backlog games on the docket as a goal and try to avoid buying anything new (or deeply discounted) as hard as i possibly can.

at the time, the nintendo fan in me probably wanted to say "Brawl" but honestly it's probably fable 2. as far as what i think about most often today from this list, it's probably that "prince of persia" game. or, potentially "rock band 2" for both.

i think maybe college football is just bad now? it's almost fun to watch indiana break spirits, but if there can't be some restrictions on player movement and compensation then it's simply not fun anymore. player development can't be a thing of the past.

2025 year in review. I read 18 books (17 audiobooks, 1 graphic novel (which was a re-read)) in 2025. I started the Dungeon Crawler Carl series which I'm still having a hard time getting into, despite many recommendations. 6 books were 2025 releases. Fav book: Atmosphere - Taylor Jenkins Reid
