Played a couple of games of Torpedoes and Tides recently. Despite all the playtesting and scenario design and whatnot, I still enjoy the game. And I'm incredibly happy that others seem to enjoy it, too! Thank you to all who have bought it and played it and posted kind words about it.

Siege Works is a clever little solo roll & write game about conducting a siege during the Napoleonic Wars. I bought the print & play variant and just tried (and won!) the first scenario. Sieges are always difficult to transform into a game and this is an innovative approach. #solowargaming

Playing around with the ultra-simple Dominion of the Spear rules, using my early medieval spanish figures which haven't seen the light of day for a long time. The scenario is based on the Battle of Bairen 1097. Interesting concept, but not sure yet what to make of them... #wargaming

The yearly Librarything report hints at something that could become a problem when living in euclidean space... (although for some reason I got acquired less book in 2025 then in 2024, so I guess there's no need to worry).

It's not all giant robots around here. I just finished scratch-building two armed freight barges in 1/1250 for a scenario of Torpedoes and Tides. The Germans used such river barges as coastal transports in the Adriatic. About 120' in reality, the models are only 3cm long. #navalwargaming #modelling

Battletech Alpha Strike with @battlebrushstudios.bsky.social and @cgoepa.bsky.social at a friend's house yesterday. Maybe I found the Battletech game I actually enjoy playing. Classic Battletech is far too procedural and slow for my taste. Alpha Strike gives a fast, furious and fun game.

2 German S-boats use the Hearty Knoll light vessel as cover to approach an East Coast convoy. I've just finished my convoy mini-campaign with mixed results: Of 12 freighters, 4 were sunk by the E-boats and one by a mine. One of the freighters was an easy target because she had run aground... 1/3

Look what I found at my parents' house. We didn't play either much, to be honest. I must have been 13 when I bought D&D on a holiday trip to England. Didn't find people to play it with though. Two or three years later, I had found some and we played GURPS instead.

A small and quick scenario for Torpedoes and Tides: In the night of 17 July 1943, Italian cruiser Scipione Africano encountered four British MTBs while through the Straits of Messina. In a high speed encounter that lasted three minutes, she sank one MTB and heavily damaged another.
