To an extent him being a focus it makes some sense, but given that none of what we see is really new, I still find the intensity around it surprising and do wonder if it ...

At this point half of the villains in #OnePiece feel like oda just using the most annoying takes of the fandom and making it the dialogue of the most unlikeable ones:

#OnePiece I kind of need oda to have someone that is specifically not Rayleigh free Shakky (Shiki maybe?) and then do the thing where they do the villain sounding like the fandom thing: "Looks like I'm the winner of God Valley now" only for Shakky to tell them she doesn't give a fuck and isn't ...

#OnePiece Always enjoy when something goes a little meta. So Shakky "low diffing" both the whole pirate world and by that also the part of the fandom that unironically uses "low diff" on a regular basis, is pretty glorious.

While I'm on #OnePiece related rants: I'm not sure if I find it scary, hilarious or just pathetic (sort of a mix of all) how many (men) discuss the recent chapter(s). Showing attraction to a women is discussed as a failure and a weakness, but "scoring a hot woman" is almost treated as powerscaling

I have my own gripes with #OPLA and especially the writing for the characters in it, but the casting and especially the ethnicity and nationality is and should just never be the issue. And to those that like to see actors that much as their characters: Congrats on being more hateful than Wapol. 😬

#OnePiece Also, while I'm talking about Conquerer's mindsets. No, neither Luffy nor Zoro want to "stand above" others either. Luffy is the exact antithesis of that and spells it out several times in the story. To him Pirate *King* is not about ruling at all, it's about his personal freedom. ...

#OnePiece Discussions about whether Sanji has the right "qualities" for Conquerer's always sound hilarious to me, because people sound 1:1 like the villains in the story that Sanji has to face and that are told into their faces by even Luffy and other Strawhats how wrong they are. ...

And now Gaban is on his way down to where Luffy/Sanji/Zoro are. Injured because he sacrificed hlmself for his kid and his kid still bring held hostage, this just *screams* Sanji/dad plot now. #OnePiece1149

I wonder if oda is gonna have Sanji meet Gaban eventually while saving Collun. For a while now whenever there is a "caring dad" in the story going all out to protect their kid, oda heavily involves Sanji: - Momo/Kinemon on Punk Hazard and again in Wano - Chiffon/Pound in WCI - Bonney/Kuma on Egghead

#OnePiece I just actually burst out laughing: Toei making a post about Sanji after the whole "controversy" last week and spelling charismatic wrong is kind of the funniest thing ever. I can't even decide if it's something would be funnier by mistake or on purpose. 🤣

Random rant and it's not even April 1st for me yet, but I despise April's fools these days. It used to be about pretty much innocent absurd stories and actual jokes being made, but it has more and more become an excuse for everyone to post fake news and straightup lies with nothing funny about it.

#OnePiece1141 I think this panel is gonna be deeply symbolic for what's to come and might even give inside into why Roger was too early. Luffy is said to destroy Fishman Island, Loki wants(?) or is said to destroy Elbaf, Momo actually opening Wano might also do this to new Wano very literally.

Bringing this thought back, because reading #OnePiece1141 after the events in the real world in the last days is wild with this as my suspicion in mind. Trying to subjugate a country by convincing it to stand peacefully aside and labelling the one that doesn't comply as the real danger, ...

Oh and another #OnePiece1137 thought: King Harald was killed 14 years ago. Lola is 26 now and she made it to Thriller Bark 5 years ago. Which means the Loki engagement thing was surely after the killing and likely not long before Shanks helped lock him up 6 years ago. So Loki was already disliked

#OnePiece1137 King Harald's beard gives me Kaido vibes and it's curious we can't tell the shape of his horns as he ripped them out, but maybe that could explain Kaido's? Ripley already mentioned having a half-human child, so the possibility exists and Kaido is just a few years younger than Loki.

The "Sanji isn't really doing anything to follow his dream" thing is always wild to me especially in comparison to Zoro being seen as super comitted. Sanji is sailing some of the least known areas of the ocean with the crew, which seems like a perfectly good strategy to find a mystery ocean? 1/3

Since Elbaf started I've seen on the regular speculations regarding different "Sun Gods" in #OnePiece and especially last chapter, in terms of there maybe being a "good" one for freedom and a "bad" one for "destruction", but I very much think Doflamingo already said it all during Marineford:

As a big fan of all kinds of mythologies and with The Prestige probably still being my overall favorite movie, sign me up for Nolan's #Odyssey movie. However, I kind of wish Nolan would be on a smaller budget again and without the current "hotness" of actors that you see everywhere all the time.

#OnePiece1134 discussions regarding the Shank's "twin" and how he must be stronger because he has both arms, are so funny and adorable to me. Makes me think of kid Zoro logic of "the more the better" and him grabing all the swords, because clearly whoever can hold the most swords is the best. 🤣

Learning Japanese with a #OnePiece brain: Came across the most Drum Island coded Kanji: 治 It means cure/heal as well as rule/reign. So the two things that island was in need of. The 台 part is by itself a counter for machines and the 3 little lines show up for many "water related" Kanji ...

With the talk about #Zoro and his (non existent) bathing habits, it might be a good time to share an old thing I frankenstein-ed together ages ago from existing #OnePiece panels on here. (And a few from Shokugeki No Sanji and One Piece Party because Zoro is cleaning rooms in there 😅)

As the discussion came up here as well today, and because I keep reading hoe clearly *everyone* thought Saul was dead, when I for a fact know that I personally didn't, I thought I'd leave a list of characters I wouldn't really be surprised by if they were revealed to be alive for future reference:

Flipping through some old #OnePiece volumes and came across Sanji getting stabbed by Absalom when he was holding up Nami to protect her. I guess in my memory the anime scene took over because I did absolutely not recall how brutally that blade went all the way through. 😬

I'm not even the biggest watcher of the anime, it's always been very a secondary to the manga for me. But he's certainly one of the voices that ever since first hearing has shaped how I imagine Franky even when reading. Sad to see him leave, but with all the best wishes to enjoy his retirement.
