Why is the default 0.988? It's such a strange choice

IS has made lots of experimental games unburdened by player reception, but it's not like they just ignore 3H's success. My fear is that going forward, they will take the reception to heart and make more games that have dreadfully boring exposition dumps and needlessly long winded lore like in 3H.

This obsession with lore above everything is honestly really annoying me. In MH people complained there wasn't much lore back in the day, as if the game world wasn't dripping with worldbuilding and fascinating implications. But since there's no lore dump loading screen like Dark Souls, it's useless.

I'm not gonna reply to these people directly because judging by their writing, they are incapable of understanding my counterargument, so I'm going to make fun of them here. This is the reason we will never have good FE discussion; the fans are utterly incapable of understanding themes.

Watching my gf play Super Metroid was the most fascinating thing. I really enjoy this game's design. It's unbelievably impressive that it somehow feels as well designed for complete beginners as it does to extremely highly skilled players. Almost every other game I know is better at one.

People have been saying for as long as I can remember that it is weird western media is more comfortable with torture than kissing; the most extreme violence is more acceptable than intimacy. It's not weird. It's deliberate. Our culture wants violence public and love private, shameful, atomised.
