It's hard not to feel a bit smug looking back at conversations with University Leadership in 2023 or so. They: "we need to hire a philosopher of AI", Me: "Why not a philosopher of fascism or inequality?" They took that as silly or something, since "obviously" AI is what EVERYTHING will be about.

Quite a few of the philosophers who got into „AI“ when it got fashionable have contributed big time to the problem raised here.
