This is a very 90s main mechanic. I mean that EXTREMELY positively. The 90s/00s had these games where the main mechanic/concept just made me ask "why?" but then gave me so much fun that I forgot the question entirely. It's kinda like the feeling of reading Douglas Adams

The combo of hybrid turn-based (with the parries) and combat dialog is SO GOOD. I say this way too often, but it's because it's true: People take turn-based combat for granted, but it still has a LOT of interesting design space to explore!

My issue with stealth mechanics in ttrpgs in general is that they rely only on one kind of action, usually named /stealth/ and make the process very dull and uninsteresting while other parts are more involved, you can have different skills for diplomatic interaction, combat is usually the mainpart
