Kid1 suggested that my tiny town with tiny houses needed tiny pieces of furniture 🪑 I think they’re right!

Trying my hand out wooden palisades (not sure I nailed it but am happy with them). Added a few houses and a stone watchtower in the bailey beneath the castle walls.

Realized that I probably needed a keep and a town to save! Also the two wells should be connected somehow… most likely catacombs running through a Radenwight lair! And leafing through Draw Steel’s monster book to see what could emerge from that cave entrance!

Drawing these maps for Draw Steel makes me realize that it encourages inserting more tactical affordances in them. The map screams for ledges to let PCs push creatures off them and thin walls to throw enemies through them. Wondering what class abilities and combos might benefit from the map itself 🤔

The fun part of GMing, for me, is finding the line that pushes the PCs’ character sheet to their extreme limit and then crossing that line so that it’s the players who have to find solutions using resources that aren’t on paper. They need to dig deep and think outside the PHB! #dnd #ttrpg

Starting to think that the best way to play casual Commander is for a group to buy all 4 precons from a set, with sleeves, and to just play with that. Everyone tries all decks and eventually hold finales. Winner gets first pick for the deck they get to keep, runner up gets second pick, etc. #mtg

I might be showing my age but the idea of office hoteling is completely unappealing to me. It’s the company basically just saying “Stay home!” - which is especially jarring when paired with a mandatory 3 day RTO policy.

Ran a special “mad max / thunder road vendetta” style race for our dnd game tonight! Adapted the chase mechanics from SavageWorld for 5e and sprinkled in some flashbacks from Blades in the Dark in the mix to create a sort of montage. Absolute blast!!
