If you dislike sports manga, I recommend The Days of Diamond. If your problem is lack of interest in matches, the series doesn’t focus on them. Instead it portrays the psyche of Jiro & how he affects everyone else. What happens when the genius is the protagonist & not the rival?

It’s scary how much trad wife propaganda there is on Tik Tok, from young women at that, meanwhile my 57 yo mother has always hammered into my head the importance of financial independence & not tying your self-worth to your man.

I get why content creators get sponsors, what I find distasteful is when ppl target regular ppl yet what they’re promoting is extremely out of touch. Be more selective of what you’re associating with, every anime content creator’s getting sponsorships from overpriced proxies.

The people arguing that Nakamura isn’t a BL is kinda funny actually, considering Opera, the magazine it was published in, has actual non-BL manga by a BL author so you’d think it’d be advertised that way. This one’s nice if you want a platonic relationship, the art’s stunning.

Ik people say the series’s too long, but I love how BSC actually shows the characters going through each stage of their life from highschool to uni to now in their working life instead of doing a timeskip. The length is so worth it, the character writing is night & day to a 1shot

It surprises me everytime knowing that a lot of people don’t think highly of artbooks as a form of merch when they aren’t an art guide. It’s just a one-time picture book for some people but in a fickle time like now, I find it even more important to have physical art.

I don’t go into every queer work expecting it to be relatable or “realistic” in terms of the queer portrayal. It’s good if they are, but queer ppl are made up of more than just their queer identity. It’s a good thing that queer people can just exist in some works too.

FINALLY got my Doukyuusei figures in & they’re stunning. In love with how they captured Nakamura Asumiko artstyle. I love how simple yet delicate & graceful they are, figures nowadays can be a bit much for my taste.

I finished Palace of the Omega vol 3. I really liked this volume, didn’t think the mangaka’d mention the discrimination in Ilia’s ever again but this entire volume was about it so that was a pleasant surprise.

You guys, I just got the Sakura Sawa artbook in & literally foaming at the mouth from how beautiful the illustrations are. I can’t remember the last time I geeked out this hard receiving an artbook.

Been seeing so much love for Nagisa Furuya lately so I need to show this artbook, can’t recommend it enough. Not sure how available it is in the aftermarket tho since it came out 2 years ago, and the release was kinda hard to get.

Finished Tonari Ni & I enjoyed it so much. The art is so unique, such a visually stunning BL. Really appreciated how the MC’s past relationships with women weren’t denied or that his new crush is a “only gay for him” situation. He’s told he’s probably bisexual right away.

I’ve been continuing The Perks of Being An S-Class Heroine lately & ik manhwa is its own thing, but this series is the closest to the “battle shojo” people keep talking about. The structure is closer to a battle shonen than smth like Yona, there’s a training arc too.

Does this make any sense for other people but imo it’s so obvious when a cute stylish female character is targeted towards women vs when they are for a more “general” audience (“general” being men). They look young but not baby-faced to the point of infantilizing do you get what I mean

I’m reading a chapter of Little Forest by Daisuke Igarashi everyday, and I really like how at the end of most chapters there’s real photography & tips on cooking the dish. The way the creator uses food as a narrative to slowly reveal the pieces of the MC’s life is so good too.

Idk how every negative opinion I’ve had on BL recently on the hell app has been blowing up & making people mad. Not even trying to be controversial, I just have strong opinions.

I hate Ogeretsu Tanaka’s talented ass cause wdym the recent chapter of Yarichin focusing on Toono’s family troubles was better built up, resolved and made me feel more emotions in a single chapter than most BLs I’ve read recently.

As much as I can appreciate an attractive character, I wish to see more creative liberties when it comes to non-human designs. It gets so repetitive constantly seeing god/demon characters being hot humanoids with wings or something. The designs from After God & Fool Night for example go so hard.

Received my copy of The Sacred Serpent’s Seduction artbook yesterday & it’s so stinking cute. I don’t think the merch itself is that great but just the book itself is worth it. So many cute pictures 😩

My curent read is Little Forest by Daisuke Igarashi. The recipes are very modest, even scrappy but the story captures the romance of living a simple life off the land very well. The art’s gorgeous, I just love how sketchy it is

Enemies/rivals-to-lovers sound good in theory, but their execution falls flat for me a lot of times because there’s not enough genuine hatred or rivalry from BOTH sides for the sex to be good. Also rivalry in a corporate setting is kinda lame, sports/art/academic is way better.

Ngl everytime I see somebody tries to “correct” a translation it comes out reading like ass because they only focus on retaining the meaning but not the flow of the text or the grammar structure, so the end result is just a translation that’s clunky, verbose & awkward to read.

I love how sometimes BL would give you a 30 second video of a series animated with really good animation so you can see with your own eyes what you’re never getting 🥰

Why do I keep hearing uni students in their 20s talking about how they can’t imagine a time when people wrote essays without AI. I’m only a couple years older & AI was not a thing for the majority of my time in uni. Why are they talking about it like it was some prehistoric time?
