Looking forward to the Conjuring Power: Roots & Futures of Queer & Trans Movements that Tina Aguirre and Caro De Robertis are curating for Yerba Buena Center for the Arts, opening in March.

That tremor was sudden and sharp enough to wake me up at 3 am. I tried to go back to sleep but here I am. Definitely one of the most noticeable tremors I've felt in ages. This old building has weathered plenty of quakes in its time, thankfully.

A Jeopardy contestant just mentioned a former job of being a docent at a Cracker Country museum in Florida and I had to pause the TV to recover. (Yes, it’s a museum dedicated to Florida Cracker culture and history.)

Having a wonderful lunch. I wore my red shirt and blue shorts because we are going to see a Sunday matinee of Superman at a great little local movie theater.

Always stop by Hanapepe for the Friday Night Mart. There's a new Stitch mural but the old mural is still there too. (Much of the look and feel of Lilo's home in the movie was based on Hanapepe.)

We've been watching Ballard and it is so much better than it has any right to be. Maggie Q is incandescent in a tough role of a good cop in a shitty situation who keeps all her feelings under wraps. I think it's better than Bosch for all sorts of reasons. Great show for a vacation binge.

Watching the fascinating HBO documentary Enigma, and I'm obsessed with how many possible birth months and birth years that Amanda Lear has claimed over the years. In the doc Amanda says she doesn't remember her birth last name or the last name of her parents.

Every year I get a few t-shirts screen printed at a little shop in Hanalei. Yesterday I got a few more, including orange (finally!). Nice to have the whole rainbow at last.

Sunrise this morning

Been spending a lot of time at the ocean and relaxing. Heading out soon for dinner at one of our favorite restaurants (today is 🎰).

Arrived yesterday so expect a lot of nonsense from me for the next couple of weeks. Our anniversary is next week — we got married on 07-07-07 — and we’ve been planning this trip for a while now. The world is frequently awful but I’m focusing on queer and trans joy. Your queer uncle loves you.

Spent a few minutes in a cafe that I love today. Spending the day doing last minute errands.

Whenever I go to Gus's Fried Chicken in Oakland I take a selfie with the EAT ME chicken.

This week I made two minizines about queer spirituality and the original eight colors of the first Pride flag, and sold them along with my first regular zine at a Queer Tarot Happy Hour. It was my first time talking about and selling my work. Kind of fun, actually!

Mind blown that the Levi's store in San Francisco has done a collab with iconic gay bar The Stud, including making several patches that reproduce vintage pins from the archives. I have a long history with the Stud so I had to get them all.

Felt very pastel yesterday for trans pride

Every year on the morning of the trans march there is an intergenerational event put on by Openhouse (services for LGBTQ seniors) and Lyric (services for LGBTQ youth). We went with dear friends and had a good time.
