A midweek supper. Shortcrust pastry tart. Crammed with Goat's cheese, roasted white onions & leeks, all generously smothered in a silkily smooth savoury custard with nutty Gruyère & crème fraîche. Baked to a fine wobble, cooled for an impatient 10 minutes, then devoured. One more slice please... 🤪

Saturday Night Fakeaway... My yoghurt, za'atar and olive oil flat breads. Loaded with harissa and honey chicken, a tahini and garlic dressing and lots of spring onions. Ooft! 🤪🤪🤪

A lunch from the weekend there… A simple assembly job dish from my kitchen. Grilled Goat’s cheese, crispy salami, and a deliciously fresh mix of edamame beans, sweet petit pois & earthy green lentils, all brought together with a lemon zest, fresh dill & thyme dressing. 😋😋😋

Going total comfort food at the top of the year… a whole baked cauliflower. Luxuriating in a triple cheese sauce, Gruyère, Orkney Cheddar & Comté. A few pinches of sweet smoked pimentón for subtle heat. Some punchy peppery watercress to finish. 😋😋😋

A simple supper for a dreich Monday. Slow cooked pork loin… pork stock, cranberry sauce, fresh thyme, nutmeg, ginger & Lebanese 7 Spice, sat atop some crispy roast potatoes. Winter Comfort Food. A hug on a plate. 🤗

A Winter warmer supper… comfort food for a blustery December day. A bed of Dukkah flavoured lentils provides the perfect resting spot for a generous topping of my chilli sauce marinated chicken & baked Halloumi. Fresh chilli & coriander to finish. Heat. Texture. Comfort. A hug for the belly. 🤗

Friday night pizza from my kitchen. A quick to make base - plain flour, olive oil, dried yeast & sea salt. Pre-baked in a scorching oven, then topped with my tomato & garlic sauce, roasted peppers, baby plum tomatoes, Taleggio, Mozzarella & fresh Basil. Simple Supper. Full on Flavour. Ooft. 😋😋😋

Saturday night supper… Griddled skewers of loveliness, rammed with chorizo, prawns, Padrón & bell peppers and heritage tomatoes. All generously anointed with my marinade of Gochujang sauce. (Chilli paste, onions, soy sauce, vinegar, garlic, sesame seeds, sugar, ginger & sesame oil). Ooft! 😋😋😋

An assembly job midweek supper. Toasted muffins topped with my spiced apple chutney, caramelised pear wedges lightly dusted with sumac. And the star of the dish.. grilled Goat’s cheese. A sprinkle of freshly snipped chives to finish. Melting pools of oozy cheese loveliness… a turophile’s dream! 😋

A midweek supper from my kitchen… Pizza! My quick to make dough for the base… 00 Zero and self raising flours, olive oil and sea salt. Topped with my roasted baby plum tomato sauce, peppers, artichokes, capers, black olives, fresh basil and Provolone & Mozzarella cheeses. Full on flavour… 😋

A Winter warmer supper from my kitchen. Pork Tenderloin & Plum Curry. The meat marinated in plum molasses, seared, generously anointed with my peanut, lemongrass & coconut cream satay sauce, heat from finely chopped red chillies, finished with sumac dusted griddled plums. Bowl Food Heaven. 🥣

‘Twas a day for a “stick to the ribs” soup… my take on French Onion. White onions, slowly cooked until meltingly sweet, beef stock, fresh thyme and a good glug of a full bodied Californian Zinfandel. Topped with grilled Gruyère baguette slices. Warming. Comforting. Flavourful. 🍜🍜🍜
