Had a really lovely weekend and being able to be outside, in nature and going out somewhere nice makes such a positive difference. Feeling a lot better for it.

This is possibly a stupid (and niche) question but does anyone on Bluesky know if it's possible to find affordable copies of all 3 volumes of 波紋集 (Hamonshū) by 森雄山 (Mori Yūzan) in Japan, either as new reprints or older editions?

Nearly home after a 3hr round-trip for a 3 min blood test. BUT thanks to the speedy staff I didn't miss my bus, which would have made it 4hrs and the route went through countryside dressed in rain and beginning autumn colours. After being bed- and housebound a lot, it's felt like a mini adventure.

Thank you for sharing your happy things with me! It turns out second-hand joy is surprisingly effective as a mood booster and I also got a lot of inspiration and ideas for low-key, no-pressure ways I can boost my happiness.

Since it's @danfoto.bsky.social's birthday, we've had 3 days in London of good food, bookshopping, cake and the Hiroshige exhibition at BM. I even got to see the reading room at BM and went to Shepherd's aka bookbinding heaven for paper lovers, both of which have been on my wish list for years.

Wrote a poem and felt my burnt out brain click further back into place. I'm pleased with the poem but I also like how writing it made me feel like coming back to myself.

I've been taking extra care to rest this weekend, so I've had two slow mornings with tea and breakfast in bed, reading 'Moving Mountains', edited by @louisekenward.bsky.social . I love looking at the cover and the writing inside is just what I needed right now.

I've been very quiet photography wise this year. In Spring, I was diagnosed with a second chronic illness; today I've been diagnosed with another long-term (but potentially treatable) condition. There's also been a string of issues at work and despite some lovely experiences, it's been a bit tough.

Thinking about Hiroshima today. We spent a day there last year and the city got under my skin in a way I hadn't expected. I wish for love and peace, always. There and everywhere else.

Going to have a chill, gentle day after a weekend at a festival. A little sad I'm not waking up in a tent to a breakfast of pancakes but it was also nice not having to fall asleep to beats from the big techno tent up the hill.

Not sure why this happens but I always seem to have one of the worst weeks at work right before a holiday. At least it will be over in a few hours.

Today marks exactly two years since we bought our first home and moved to the coast. We love it here so much.

I somehow thought "Let's go inland and away from the sea in order to spend our Saturday shopping and eating food heavy on melted cheese" - and then did just that on one of the hottest days of the year so far. 10/10

This kind of work is exactly why I love bookbinding so much. Beautiful, tactile, creative.

When I was ill recently, I kept thinking about all the things I wanted to do and couldn't, and now that I'm better I'm feeling lackluster about so many things. 😭 Reading, writing, printing. I feel bored and uninspired no matter what I try.

Do people in England have an aversion to parking spots? Because my street is littered with free parking spaces and yet all day long people will park on our actual street and not even on or close to the curb. It absolutely baffles me.

I've tried to keep my spirits up and I'm grateful for having had Friday with less severe symptoms but I'm on day 17 of a flare-up and my holiday is now almost non-existent. I'm so tired

Hello from a sunny South coast. It's the first warm Spring day and also the first day of a quasi-holiday. I've already been out for a walk and lunch at a local café near the beach, so now my hair smells like sun and the sea.

It's been hard following the news in the UK the last few days, hearing Starmer and Kendall talk about "incentivising" more disabled people to work. Do you think companies want disabled workers? They don't. They don't want us with our needs and sick days, our humanity.

I wrote this morning on a project I've been working towards starting for a few months, which lead to some language work for the same project, which lead to practising and learning more Japanese. All of it unintentionally connected and flowing from one to the next. I love how the mind can work.
