8 December 1941: F/Lt John Christopher Ramshaw of No. 1 Squadron, RAAF, is listed as missing when the Lockheed Hudson he is piloting - A16-19 - is shot down while attacking the Japanese invasion fleet off Malaya. F/Lt Ramshaw is now commemorated on the Singapore Memorial.

7 December 1941: Sgt Colin Burns Treloar of No. 205 Squadron, RAF, goes missing when Catalina W8417 is shot down while shadowing the Japanese invasion fleet off Malaya. Sgt Treloar is the first member of the RAAF to be killed in the war against Japan. He is commemorated on the Singapore Memorial.

21 November 1943: LAC Hector Richard Hore of No. 20 Squadron, RAAF, was killed when USAAF C-47 41-18648 "Star Duster" broke up in mid-air and crashed near Monto, Queensland. Hore had previously served with the AIF in Singapore. He is now buried at the Bundaberg General Cemetery.
