Visited the Berlin Wall memorial, Checkpoint Charlie, and the Reichstag today in Berlin. Too many memories and ghosts.

In Berlin and walked by the US Embassy on the way to the Holocaust Memorial. In the front window is a really ugly statue of Trump.

Changing of the guard today at the Prague castle. Never been this close at US Tomb of Unknown Soldier in DC or Buckingham Palace. I thought one of the normal soldiers was going to usher me out.

Enjoyed a visit to the Royal Treasury in Vienna.

Enjoyed Augustine’s church in Vienna.

For this extended trip in Europe we are doing all travel by train. I love it when we get a fast train between cities. 231 km/hr was the fastest speed we achieved on the segment between Munich and Vienna. For the entire trip I was only in a car between Seattle and airport.

Today was castle day near Fussen Germany. Toured Schloss Hohenschwagen and Schloss Neuschwanstein. Too much climbing and too many steps for this old fahrt.

When in Munich one is required by German law to visit the Hofbrauhaus and have a beer and listen to an oompah band. Love the local advertising.

At the Palace of Justice in Nuremberg today. I hope that the model and idea of Nuremberg will be used to indict and bring to trial Trump and his war cabinet and Netanyahu and his war cabinet for the war crimes against Gaza, Venezuela, Iran and Lebanon.

May is evidently asparagus month in Germany. Several restaurants have a whole page of asparagus dishes.

Staying at a wonderful hotel in Nuremberg - the Drei Raben. Each room has a story. Ours is about the first train in Germany. Our room even has an accompanying table in the restaurant.

Found our way to Nuremberg. Lovely old walls and beautiful church.

Visited Mainz Germany today. Enjoyed St Martin’s cathedral, the Gutenberg Museum and even found a winery to visit. I got to step into a German Riesling vineyard. Life is good.

Beautiful day in Heidelberg Germany. Tried to make the Philosophers way but way to steep and uneven for this hobbled old dude.

Just got burned by Viagogo trying to buy a ticket to Frankfurt vs Hamburg match. Fortunately customer service was able to get me a legal ticket. So glad I got keg gal tickets to EPL matches earlier on the trip.

Beautiful day in Speyside Scotland. Loved seeing the first iron bridge in Scotland and the peace of fly fishing on the Spey River.

Ventured to Inverness. In awe of the beautiful weather. In past visits the weather was always gray and gloomy. Climbed Inverness castle to view the Ness River. No monsters except the artwork at Uile-bheist distillery.

Impromptu visit to Glen Moray today. Was able to join the cask origins stories tasting in the old Glen Moray house. Rebecca led the tasting and was fantastic.

When in Edinburgh one has to make an obligatory journey to the Castle.

And when in Scotland have a little whisky.

Checking off a bucket list item by attending my first EPL match in person to see my favorite team - Man City. Evidently I did not receive the dress code.

Our transient river otter stopped to play a little today. What a treat.

Our Portlandia family and friends said we had to stop by Portland airport to see the new terminal. What a beautiful facility. Wood and green and growing things wherever we looked.

Been a while since I have toured Oregon wine country. Got to my favorite view at Stoller winery and finally got to taste Kristof wines at Carleton Winemakers studio. Even got a signed bottle. Loved display of studio founders. Also stopped by to see if Sake One still existed. Yes it does.

I am always fascinated by Coast Guard helicopters when they hover over a boat on the Puget Sound. Is it practice? Did they find drugs? Is it a terrorist headed for Seattle or our island? More fun to let my imagination run wild.
