Today's headache: car repairs. Getting it there was tricky and stressful but ultimately painless. Now it's at the mechanic but they need the warranty paperwork which I never got so I'm trying to get in touch with the dealership to figure that part out.

Tonight I learned that there was a years long search by several YouTubers to seek out the pilot to a show, only for them to be met consistently with a grim conspiracy of people in power who wanted them to fail. These folks faced misinformation, betrayal, and numerous dead ends.

I would like to verify that this guy is not a creep because he's dressed like a hamster but rather he just gives off a vibe that he's a creep who also happens to be dressed like a hamster. Definitely going up to people and asking them to guess how much he can stuff in his cheeks, things like that.

I finished listening to this today. Fred mentions the Three Wise Men and Wilma the Little Drummer Boy, while Pebbles brings up Rudolph and Frosty, but as Jesus Christ is never mentioned there's at least some plausible deniability as to what Christmas is for the Flintstones and Rubbles.

Here's a CD I found today. I need to finish listening to it but there was nothing about this that seemed like this should be a real thing. First of all, they're cavemen, why is there a Christmas or Motown? Why connect the Flinstones to Motown? Why put this album out in 1996?

I got some of those LEGO mini figures blindboxes today. I was only going to get one to support a small business but if I bought four I could get two free sets because of Small Business Saturday. The first minifig was this guy from Series 25

24 years ago I went with my friend and his then girlfriend to see the film "Black Knight" and then, afterwards, tried in vain to find anywhere that was open the night before Thanksgiving to eat. So a happy Black Knight day to you all.

Over the weekend @ladyjess.bsky.social and I watched "We're Back: A Dinosaur's Story" and "Lupin the 3rd: Castle of Cagliostro" and here's some thoughts. We liked the latter more than the former. "We're Back" made some odd choices that did not benefit it, though the animation was quite good.

I've never done 7 since I was always afraid I'd scratch the record. I never did 9 because why would I? I used a cassette tape to record songs off CDs but never the radio Never did 20 because those suckers were expensive. I still do 5, 11, 17, and 18. A lot of places still use faxes.

Another shelf put up, three or four more boxes of DVDs taken care of. I have three and a half boxes left.

I got this statue over a decade ago and never had a good place to put it. I do now! Though I don't think the movie shelf has any of my Godzilla collection on it.

One time I threw a sandwich at someone. Half a wrapped Beef and Cheddar from Arby's. Later they tried to attack me with a tire iron. Later he claimed I got ketchup on him, when parents got involved (we were fifteenish) which is a ludicrous claim. I don't even get the red sauce and it was wrapped.

There's been a giant frozen mass in @ladyjess.bsky.social's freezer since before we started dating and today I went at it with a mallet and a screwdriver and chiseled all that away. We found some weird turkey thing and part of a box. And Wiley kept eating the ice.

Since I started my new job and am getting better paychecks I've started buying shelves for my DVDs. One down, a few more to go. Those boxes are also full of DVDs, as well as three more, elsewhere.

I had to defend my dog Wiley from a sudden attack by the neighbor's dog today. Between this and my snake battle yesterday I fully expect to have to battle a goblin or something soon.

It's fun when you're working on a task at your job and it reveals a time of great darkness at your place of employment.

I drove two snakes out of our basement yesterday. One slithered into a hole that will have to be patched up without much trouble. The other fought the broom I was trying to corral it into a container with and then vanished down a drain. We will have to get a new cover for that drain.

I lose my office next week and am getting a different desk because of remodeling and moving employees around. I'm glad I didn't put anything on the walls yet.

I finished my first week of the new job/last week of the old job and can now return to actually working on things when I get home instead of being too tired to do much of anything

Current line-up at my desk at the new job. I also have a whole office to myself currently like a cat you're trying to acclimate to other cats. Going to get a desk calendar and something Kermit the Frog and then I think I shall be good.

I started my new job yesterday. Put my two weeks' notice in at the old job a week ago. You can see, mathematically, how this has resulted in me working from 8AM-9PM for the rest of the week.

People keep telling me about ghosts they know this month. It's only the third. Where is this going?

The falcon (which might be a hawk) remains where I put them over a month ago. The question is, do I leave them there when I leave or buy them and take them to my new job with me? There is another one I can put there, so a hawk can remain on guard when I'm gone.

I finished watching the original Transformers series for the first time last night. I didn't watch it when I was a kid because I was firmly in camp Cartoon Animal, though had I realized the Dinobots were in it fairly often I would have given it a chance. Next up: GI Joe.

The book I'm working on currently is about a protagonist with zero media literacy for what they have to deal with and at no point do I specify much about them. Nor will I. The most that's said is that they are human with a normal allocation of body parts.

At the beginning of next month I'm switching jobs from grocery cashier to medical records clerk (which, oddly, aligns with the first two jobs I had) and the only current obstacle is proving that I'm vaccinated for measles and all that. Otherwise I have to wait.

In the first aired episode of the "Pinky and the Brain" show there was a scene where a government agent and sea captain who had been hunting them throughout the episode (Pinky and the Brain stole a sub to get to the Titantic wreckage) finally blow the sub up and the agent starts celebrating.
