This holiday storm has brought prolonged heavy rain and wind across the L.A. region. We are deploying every available City resource to support the ongoing response, including a local emergency declaration that I signed to ensure our teams have what they need in the days ahead.

Our South L.A. Holiday Drive supported nearly 3,000 Angelenos this weekend with food, toys, and home essentials. This was made possible by community partners and Angelenos who came together at the iconic Vision Theatre to make the season a little brighter for families.

For many immigrant families, this holiday season is marked by absence and fear. Loved ones are missing due to immigration enforcement actions, and many families do not feel safe leaving their homes to participate in holiday traditions.

Each holiday season, City employees gather at City Hall for an annual photo with the Mayor. The City Hall Christmas tree and menorah are open to the public throughout the season, welcoming Angelenos to stop by and take photos.

We are showing that acting urgently, caring deeply, and working effectively can deliver results. Los Angeles has achieved historic progress on reducing homelessness. We cannot and will not turn back now.

We can never allow it to become normal for a President to unlawfully federalize the National Guard against communities in Los Angeles. The courts have affirmed what Angelenos knew from the beginning. There was no justification for militarizing our neighborhoods. Los Angeles will not be divided.

On Transgender Day of Remembrance, we honor the lives of our transgender community members who have been taken from us. Transgender Day of Remembrance (TDOR) is an annual observance that uplifts the memory of transgender people whose lives were lost as a result of anti-transgender violence.
