Seven years ago, I received the Best PhD Thesis Award from Natural Products Society (Malaysia) in ICNP 2019, where I met Prof Yoshinori Asakawa, a renowned pioneer in the field of natural products of liverworts.

We discovered two P450 enzymes AscB/MmsB, catalyze a Tyr-C3-Trp-N1 cross-link and hydroxylation at Trp-C5 in the YxWxH motif. Interestingly, only AscB can catalyze additional Trp-C4-His-Nτ, generating a fused cyclophane RiPPs | Organic Letters doi.org/10.1021/acs....
