In #TwinPeaks, March 26 marks the day Agent Cooper enters the Black Lodge through a circle of twelve sycamores surrounding a pool of oil in Glastonbury Grove. This was filmed in a clearing at Franklin Canyon Park near Beverly Hills - a catch-all location for many of Twin Peaks’ outdoor scenes.

Happy birthday to Harley Peyton, who wrote nearly half of Twin Peaks’ original run, produced season two, and earned an Emmy nod. Lynch and Frost may have created Twin Peaks, but Harley Peyton deserves a tremendous amount of credit for expanding upon their world & developing our favorite characters.

“The Roadhouse is proud to present…The Nine Inch Nails!” Last night in Sacramento, NIN called back to Trent Reznor’s various collaborations with David Lynch, performing both “The Perfect Drug” as written for Lost Highway and a remix of “She’s Gone Away” from the Twin Peaks revival. Great show.

In episode 1.004 of #TwinPeaks, Cooper & co track down the one-armed man at the Timber Falls Motel. This was filmed at 29033 Lake Vista Dr in Agoura Hills, CA at the Malibou Lake Mountain Club. Happy to add this continuity Polaroid from ep 2.004 sc 23 to my #TwinPeaks collection. In the scene, Coop, Harry, and Judge Sternwood discuss Leland’s hearing. Interesting to note that this photo was taken in room 103, not the conference room where the scene was ultimately filmed.

Did you know these two iconic #TwinPeaks locations are on the same property? The 211 ft. smokestack has been standing for over a century, since the Snoqualmie Falls Lumber Co first opened. This served as the Packard Sawmill onscreen, and the real mill’s office was the Twin Peaks Sheriff Dept.

Every year, I mark David Lynch’s birthday with a new portrait. His creativity, curiosity, & artistic exploration have been a constant inspiration, so I honor my favorite artist by doing something creative and trying something new. This year, my first attempt at a linocut print. Thanks, DKL.

In the 2017 #TwinPeaks revival, Big Ed's Gas Farm looks a bit different. It's not just the passage of time - a different location was used. The space at 1130 E North Bend Way in North Bend, WA is home to The Line Bike Experience. They keep a replica of the Gas Farm sign on hand for fans who visit.

Last year around the holidays, #twinpeaks propmaster/painter Dave Robinson surprised me with a Christmas card he made back in 1978. Dave is as funny as he is creative. The paper is handmade and “seasoned” with Jerry Horne’s favorite strain 💨 A treasured gift. “Seasonings Greetings” to you all 🎄

Happy birthday to Robert Broski, the mysterious Woodsman from the most indelible scene in #twinpeaks third season. When Showtime promoted the revival with a series of pop-ups in LA in 2017, I ran into Robert at the NYE party at the “Roadhouse” and he crushed my skull just before the champagne toast.

In #twinpeaks third season, Sonny Jim has an affinity for the wild west. The two orange cowboy figures on his nightstand were made by Louis Marx & Co Inc - a NY based toy maker who leaned into western themed playsets in the 1960s. More on these in my Twin Peaks Blog article: tinyurl.com/mvyzv8n4

Though this #TwinPeaks location is established briefly in episode 2010, Mo's Motor is first named in Fire Walk With Me. The corner of Meadowbrook Wy & Park St in Snoqualmie was home to the Brook Theatre from 1923 to the mid 1960s. Sadly, the building was demolished in the summer of 2015.

A day late, but happy birthday to Dave Robinson who served as prop master (S1) and painter (S2, FWWM) on the #twinpeaks crew, but you might recognize him as the “Georgia Peach” from Jacques Polaroid. It’s been a pleasure getting to know Dave over the last few years. He’s as humble as he is funny.

Exciting news for prop lovers attending the Mahoning Drive-In’s “Wild World of David Lynch” event this weekend! I’ve sent a small collection of screen-used props to be displayed throughout the event. I’m sorry I can’t be there, but I hope you’ll enjoy this bit of #twinpeaks magic in my absence.

Fire Walk With Me hit US theaters 33 years ago on Aug. 28, 1992. Production returned to the Snoqualmie Valley and established new locations in the #twinpeaks universe. Here are a few locations as they appear in the real world, all photographed in the last year. Do you still recognize them all?

Happy birthday to #twinpeaks most charming showman, Ray Wise. This past February during The Real Twin Peaks event, he stopped by the Moose Lodge for karaoke after his meet and greet at the North Bend Theatre, singing “Mairzy Doats” and “Getting to Know You” - two of Leland Palmer’s greatest hits.

I love artifacts that offer a glimpse of what it was like on the #twinpeaks set. These placards were used to identify vehicles parked on the City Studios lot during the original run. Big Ed’s Gas Farm was originally located at 8606 Preston-Fall City Rd SE in Preston, WA at the former site of Butchy’s Service Station & General Store, built by Butch and Agnes Fredeen in 1940. Butch and his store appear in the new Images of America: Snoqualmie Valley book, published July 1, 2025.

Very sorry to hear that Rebekah Del Rio has passed away. An immense talent. I could never forget her voice after hearing “Llorando” in Mulholland Dr and was glad to see her in the Twin Peaks revival. Here she is singing “No Stars” in North Bend, WA in Feb 2023. Farewell to La Llorona de Los Angeles.

Finally got to visit David Lynch’s resting place yesterday and left some art, a note of thanks, and a blue rose among the tributes. While there, a turtle stopped by and a bee investigated a Lego flower. I have to think a person of David’s curiosity would love this variety of visitors. #davidlynch

When #twinpeaks returned in 2017, I was pleased that the marketing embraced ephemera from the original run. This enamel pin was a recreation of a gift that David Lynch designed for the crew in 1990. A photo of an original pin (third photo) can be found in the Season Two Music & More vinyl release.

In 2021, I drove 800 miles to pick up Nadine’s rowing machine - a #TwinPeaks prop featured in episodes directed by both David Lynch & @markfrost.bsky.social - which was posted on Craigslist. It’s mounted above my fireplace, but I display it at events when possible for fellow fans to enjoy up close.

Days before #firewalkwithme began filming in WA, the Twin Peaks cast/crew received a memo detailing amenities that might be of interest during their stay at the Red Lion Hotel in Bellevue with an emphasis on laundry options as the shoot would last over a month. A peek at real life during production.

As Twede’s Cafe prepares to refresh its “RR2GO!” mural following stucco repair, I thought it’d be fun to look at the diner pre-Showtime facelift. This was my first photo at a #twinpeaks location, taken August 2013. In September 2015, the blue/red mural was painted and filming for The Return began.

When the #twinpeaks revival premiered in LA in May 2017, an afterparty was held at Clifton’s - a perfect spot complete with a realistic indoor redwood tree. This chevron “TP” emblem was designed by David Lynch for the event and appeared on everything from mugs to a logging truck parked outside.

The story pole at the Kiana Lodge (aka #twinpeaks’ Blue Pine Lodge) gets a close up in ep 2.014. This piece was carved by Craig Jacobrown, an apprentice to Duane Pasco who painted the Northwest Coast murals on the property which would inform the look of the Great Northern. In ep. 1005 of #twinpeaks, Coop finds several postcards in Jacques’ cupboard, including one depicting a giant log converted into an outhouse at Grundy’s Redwood Terrace on CA’s Redwood Highway. Today marks the opening of “What the Log Saw” - a special pop-up exhibit at Portland’s World Forestry Center. For the first time, the original Log is on display thanks to Catherine Coulson’s daughter Zoey. The exhibit pairs #twinpeaks with Catherine’s advocacy for forests and runs through June 8.

The house that served as the Briggs residence in #twinpeaks is a single story rambler in Fall City, WA located about a half mile from The Roadhouse. Built in 1964, it’s seen some renovations over the years (including the fence enclosing the yard) but it’s still easy to line up the neighboring tree.

Such a pleasure meeting editor Mary Sweeney yesterday, who introduced a double feature of Sunset Boulevard and Mulholland Drive followed by a Q&A. Mary shaped many of my favorite films and this was a beautiful way to end my trip to Chicago. Stay tuned for a Twin Peaks Blog article about the event.

Wonderful Q&A with Wendy Robie and Rob Christopher following their film My Last Martini, adapted from a story by Lynch collaborator Barry Gifford. Wendy talked about #twinpeaks and how director Diane Keaton let her choose which take to use when Nadine ripped a door off its hinges in season two.

Great night at the Music Box Theatre. George Griffith was present to screen his film From the Head and spoke of David Lynch’s encouragement when he ran the idea by him in 2009, long before he was cast in Twin Peaks. Thanks to Scott Ryan for a great interview and Daniel Knox for thoughtful curation.

If you’re in Chicago for the #davidlynch retrospective at the Music Box Theatre, you’ll get to see a small collection of original #twinpeaks props, including this Super Pinky rubber ball used in episode 2.007, directed by Lynch himself. Props will be displayed 4/16 to 4/19 only, so don’t miss it!

Twin Peaks premiered on ABC exactly 35 years ago on April 8, 1990. I’m grateful for everything this show has brought into my life - community, artistic inspiration, and a desire to dig deeper. Here are some of my favorite behind the scenes photos from the #twinpeaks pilot shoot on location in WA.
