One of my favorite GBA “did you knows”, which I guess could be an easter egg… If you plug a Wireless Adapter into a cartridge-less GBA, you’ll load into a lobby for single-cartridge multiplayer games that use the Wireless Adapter. All the NES Classics support this feature, even single player.

This is the way it should have always been, but couldn't due to risking relationships/inventory with the big retailers (Target/Walmart/Best Buy) who would have to compete with the cheaper digital versions. It's not so much an issue now that people now see physical as a premium version purchase.

25 years ago the deafening sound of thousands of gamers simultaneously saying “I can’t see shit” after booting up their copy of Circle of the Moon. For serious tho, I absolutely loved covering this system even though it was the SP and Game Boy Player that truly opened up this thing.

At the very least, he died so soon after this year’s Oscars, when we watch next year’s In Memoriam we’ll just go “Oh right, he died last year, didn’t he.”

Oh man, you guys weren’t kidding, Öoo is fantastic. My first go round was a terrible 7 hours (several of those was just on the pause menu, shut up), but now that I know all the mechanics I kinda want to zip through it a second time.

These guys were incredible squeezing every ounce out of the GBA. Always loved getting the latest from Velez & Dubail when covering the system.

Just like the "motion smoothing" setting on every HD television set, I'm turning this shit off the second it's automatically turned on.

Treated myself to something at a Bay Area vintage toy store. No pun intended, but this Atari Touch Me looks like it had never been touched, ever. Box and innards are absolutely perfect.

Looks great! Just from this trailer it seems like they didn’t go wild with the table layout, which is good…new tables are getting crazy complex and intimidating for newer players. This one feels much more accessible.

So is Symphony of the Night the only 2D Castlevania that is still officially not playable on Switch? Shame.

Look, I love and appreciate all this extra content they keep putting into No Man’s Sky. But the UX menu system and onboarding is so awful that I’m turned off from ever jumping in to play it again. Update *that* and I’ll give it another shot.

I once got into an argument with a friend that you can’t emulate an old game and magically make it widescreen without breaking things. This is a great visual example of why. There’s so much shenanigans happening off camera that would be revealed.
