While I'm not at the acceptance stage of grief for the loss of dragon age continuity, I've found a path to it at least: coming to terms with the fact that what I considered a core pillar of the series and what the devs did are two different things

I played Inquisition before I played any other dragon age games. I had a great time. And then I learned that if I played the previous games, my choices would be reflected in the game. It was how I fell in love with the series as a whole and not just an individual game. Losing that feels awful.
