My image search tells me this is some kind of Snakefly, here it's clinging to the side of the house today. I read they're beneficial predators to have in the garden, feeding on aphids and mites, I just don't notice them around here much. #arthropods #MacroMonday

Some time in the last hour the Robin fledgling made it into the back yard, ~150' from his last position. His parents are with him and are coaxing him deeper into the back yard, toward the safety of shrubs and trees. He seems really wobbly, keeps falling on his face, I hope he's OK. 🪶

Our Robin fledgling has boldly moved out into the lawn, now sitting out in full view of all the hawks and cats, just one tiny bird facing a big and scary world. 🪶

Spot the baby bird.... this nervous little robin fledgling has been standing perfectly still in our front yard for 2 days. His parents check on him frequently and bring him food, and there's a friendly sparrow that sits with him sometimes. 🪶

Louie's back from his 2-week training program, here he's showing off his new Dogtra unit. He made great progress with walking on leash, not jumping up on people, staying cool with distractions around, better food discipline and crate living. We're so happy to have our boy back home. #dogsofbluesky

We finally got a little snow the last 2 days, but not nearly enough to make a dent in the serious snow drought here. This region depends on snowpack for everything- agriculture, hydropower, recreation tourism, water supplies, fisheries, forest health and wildfire suppression. More snow please 🙏

Here's Louie destroying the couch as usual. We just dropped him off for a 2-week intensive collar-training program b/c he still jumps up on people way too much and chokes himself straining on the leash, and we hope this training will help with that.
