Reason number four why nuclear energy is not the answer to solve climate change: 1.5% of all nuclear power plants ever built have melted down. Even if a nuclear power plant is designed flawlessly, there’s no guarantee that it will be built or operated perfectly . . . 1/3

This past legislative session, the Maryland General Assembly voted to stop providing Renewable Portfolio Standard subsidies to companies that burn trash to create electricity, allowing more of the money to go to energy sources that don’t pollute our climate or lungs. 1/3
