I found a YT channel recently that does quick, funny recaps of moments/players/controversies in competitive Overwatch’s history I really wish Splatoon had this. It feels like the real history of the games, outside of just results, gets lost to time All Splatoon content I see is just knowledge slop

So weird how Pokemon is so innovative in the TCG space but outputs the worst, low-quality AAA video games out there at the same time Like Pokemon is either amazing or terrible depending entirely on where and how you partake in it, moreso than any other brand I’ve experienced

I’m going to meet a teammate from my very first Splatoon team from 10 years ago in Japan this August After that, I will have met at least one teammate from every Splatoon team I’ve ever been on :)

Learning how to guess shock dodges, bag, and front run on top of all the movement tech and shortcuts in MKW has been so satisfying MKW’s ranked system is lowkey good, no stupid titles or comeback mechanics or anything, just a number that goes up if you’re good and down if you’re bad lol

I’ve seen the entire staff around me at work leave and get replaced. Some got fired, some left for something else, etc. Making me really consider if I’m cool with rotting away in a cubicle my whole life just to be a real human for 2 days a week ik I shouldn’t take job security for granted but man…

Finally hit GM for this season in Marvel Lowkey miss how unserious Splatoon comp/ranked is, nobody actually practices so it takes (comparatively) not a lot of effort to be good at it compared to other games It’s addicting for someone that likes competing since its not as big of a timesink

My new year’s resolution is the same exact thing every year (start working out) and every year I don’t pull through lol But today makes 2 months straight of working out every other day, feels pretty good

Always found it interesting how Splatoon, a game marketed as primarily online multiplayer, keeps devoting resources to single player content It’s kind of annoying tbh I didnt buy this game for the single player and idk anyone that did, wish those resources were allotted to the real game instead

In S1 most of the kits are designed to feel strong In S2 the kits kinda slot into roles In S3 I have no idea what the philosophy is… at first I thought it was checking overtuned weapons with bad kits like Naut & chargers, but then stuff like Splash and Stamper ignore that.

Ive thought about it a bit and I think there’s an argument to be made about Sendou’s efforts to fix Splat making the scene worse. Plus is such a bizarre concept that forces a lot of upcoming players to devote their time to it, Q takes forever, has shitty maps, etc Team culture died with these
