7/7/2005 I was stuck on the 10th floor of a tower block overlooking a Tube station just a few metres away. We weren't allowed to leave the floor, and were told to stay away from the windows, but we weren't told why. It took a few hours for the news to start filtering through.

If a web site can detect the browser's locale to set the correct timezone, why can they not apply the same logic for date format? I get fed up with the number of web sites that pander to the minority US formatting that are not even IN the US.

When an event does gender split pricing (most commonly women paying less than men) that's a big red flag. It means the organisers are attracting the lower payers and selling access to them to the higher payers.
