The Forever War is a military science fiction classic for numerous reasons. But could their soldiers beat up a Space Marine?

Marcus Vance's Sword Knowledge Level surpasses Italian fencing master Fiore de Liberi. Fiore is recognized as one of the best sword masters on Earth Vance achieved this NATURALLY with his unorthodox nerd lifestyle

I've noticed that the research is my favorite part of work, but it's difficult to do that alongside feeling like I need to regularly put out stuff. So I've been working on front loading. So far haven't quite gotten to the point where I can shift focus.

The Forever War is a staple of military science fiction. It focuses on a soldier jumping forward in time due to FTL travel coming back to a new Earth after each battle. The weapons are blueprints for future scifi. But can their soldiers beat up a 40k Space Marine?

For the record, my first published short story had 5 em dashes—one every 100 words!—and I wrote it in 2018. A.I. does use more em dashes than the average person, but not the average author.

Law enforcement are instructed to focus on the green zones in order to keep batons "less lethal." Striking other areas can be seen as an escalation of force.

People are tired of hearing this, but I just find it so funny how I went from posting that no one asks me about to talk about Rebel Moon guns to getting harassed by Snyder bros to becoming the most popular Rebel Moon lore youtuber on the platform and doing more for the series than any of them.

"Yeah? Well at least 40k implants don't make people go crazy like Cyberpunk!" My sibling in the Omnissiah, Space Marines no longer care about humans and the Ad Mech despises meat. They are cyberpsychos.

"This is a social experiment to see if I can get away with acting like a jerk." Boring. I've been trying to undo the "katana sucks" public sentiment that came from people overcorrecting anime nerds

It's probably the fur, but this lamellar armor just looks way more intimidating than standard plate.

Norwegian peasant militia axes were weird. But the curved head was so you get the leverage of an axe, but a similar drawing/cutting motion you get with a curved sword. It's one of those designs that didn't really make it.

The Imperium of Man barely has railguns small enough to give to Space Marines. Cyberpunk has railgun pistols that are seen as a common Corp concealed pieces, and they can penetrate over 16 feet of dense concrete (likely ~2.4 feet of armor steel). The Tau don't even have that.

We gotta stop this "Warhammer 40k is more advanced because it's 40,000 years" Space Marines get stronger by getting injected with hormones and eating ceramics for a year so it fuses with their bones. Cyberpunk has a nanite injection that rebuilds muscle casually over 2 weeks.

Contrary to what movies say, it's not difficult to use a sword. They weigh about 2.5 pounds, and, according to some, only take about a week to learn proficiency. Gaining expertise requires more time, though.

Since I've been talking a lot about Cyberpunk VS Warhammer 40K, here is a 2020 bolter. .71 caliber (18mm (approx 18x50)) rocket propelled armor-piercing incendiary round. Has an onboard ballistics computer, and the projectile can be guided.

He was a competitive kickboxer. A basic SoB rose to top ranks in unethical military school as a child and then went to unethical special forces school as an adult. It'll be fast.

Compared to real atmospheric diving suits, this thing probably weighs over 800 pounds and the plates are likely an inch thick—so comparable to an APC in protection.

Read through planned projects from the Combat Capabilities Development Command Army Research Lab (DEVCOM ARL). Lots of "how can we use machine learning/AI for war" Lots of "how can we 3D print war stuff" Some "really sounds like they want super soldiers" Some eldritch horror summoning stuff

People misunderstand cyberpsychosis. It's not chrome bad. It's that the TYPE of person who would replace a significant portion of their healthy body in order to get better at killing people... probably has some underlying issues that getting more powerful doesn't mix well with.

"40k is the most over the top franchise" A 19x46mm gyrojet is pretty tame as far as futuristic weapons go. I love 40k, but please consume other scifi media too.

Joe Rogan has a samurai sword that's 500 years old he likes to show off to guests. Is that impressive? Sort of. The NTHK is a non-profit organization that preserves and certifies the authenticity of Japanese blades, and finding some made by reputable historic smiths isn't difficult. Anyone can buy.

We don't talk about how overpowered Cyberpunk can be. You can walk into a mall and walk out with skin that stops pistol rounds...

Faster than light travel that takes you through Hell has been way overdone. Give me FTL that's a freaking blast. FTL that's like waking up Christmas morning. No downside! That is... besides the rich burning through our resources to spend more and more time there..

Just learned that Andrew Tate walks around his house with a sword because it makes him feel like a commander. And it's just a blunt stainless steel display sword.

Warhammer 40k bolter. The green part, 6, is the explosive charge. By volume, this would equal about 13 grams of modern Composition B, which would have a lethal radius of half a meter. Under 2 feet.

What's kind funny is the US military has tested duplex ammo (firing two bullets per bullet) They've found that it just performs better out to 300 meters. And we've done nothing with this knowledge.

I talk about gaming, swords, scifi, and guns. It doesn't feel right to keep talking about cyborgs and super soldiers right now. But... there are LEGIONS of nerd and sword content creators who embrace toxicity and hate. If I stopped, it'd make those hobbies and interests less safe for some.

A scifi trope I love that is so absolutely cheesy and no one does unless it's a joke is when they just call a thing "space [thing]" "Welcome to Space Hooters!" "You ready to enlist in your planet's Space Force?" "I just made a post on Space-X" Wait...

Weapons and armor have been in a race for ages. Weapons get better Then armor Then weapons Now we're at a weird stage where armor is limited just by weight we're willing to carry. And weapons by how willing we are to do war crimes.

Rich people used to make cool, impractical weapons to show off. And yet we have a billionaire who claims to be into sci-fi, but he's NOT investing what's pocket change to him into making gyrojets or caseless ammo or railguns work? Not making powered armor? Vibroblades?

Saw a podcast where people were just ragging on the Chinese sniper grenade launcher. Is it a bad idea? No. GLs have great armor penetration, airburst is good for enemies behind cover, and the US military wants their own.
