Looking out my window, I chuckled at the apparently bureaucracy needed to plant a little tree. Then I was happy to realize they were spreading out and planting trees all along the block to replace the grand old trees blown down over the years by heavy winds. #SanFrancisco 🌱

Chinese New Year Parade, San Francisco Somehow, every year, there's a weird bottleneck, and the dancers from the Alaska Airlines contingent get stuck for at least 20-30 minutes right in front of where I'm standing. I appreciate their energy.

Five years ago today, Trump announced that he'd contracted Covid. Among other things, I hoped it might alter his approach to Covid safety, or help him sympathize with essential workers, or soften his opposition to universal healthcare. None of the hoped-for outcomes of that situation came to pass.
