Painting wooden doors? You need Cover Stain from Zinsser. It blocks tanning, fast drying & a super grip primer. The last thing you want is paint failing due to lack of adhesion.

I never recommend products because I’ve been paid or asked to. I’m just here to help if I can.

Also, Perma White can be colour mixed into hundreds of shades, despite its name! Therefore, can be used on walls and woodwork too.

Here are two excellent products I highly recommend for treating mould to eliminate it, & then the correct paint to use to prevent it from coming back. MAXAM PURA will leave a antimicrobial barrier on the surface. I hope this is helpful.

Zinsser Perma White paint is anti-mould resistant for up to 5 years. Incredible stuff. I know not everyone can remove mould and redecorate themselves but I’ve seen people take the matter into their own hands in the end. @mrjamesob.bsky.social @lbc.co.uk

When it comes to woodwork, these roller sleeves are superb. Great value as wash out and last well. I even use this for when I’m applying emulsion with a mini roller - ideal for window reveals etc.

A front door I redecorated earlier this year. Finished in Farrow & Ball Hague Blue. Love this shade. 🎨

Tesa make a tape specifically for curved contours. This unique tape is superb. The creped backing flexes & will give a defined curved paint edge.

Rolling walls and ceilings? This is the ideal combination. Even weight distribution as the frame supports the roller both ends, compared to a traditional roller frame.

New roller sleeve? Wrap tape around it first and remove immediately. This simple method removes any loose lint - therefore sticks to the tape instead of the wall. I’ve made the mistake of not doing this and it comes off as you roll the wall/ceiling. Once done you shouldn’t need to do it again.

Here is a tip. When picking a secondary shade to go with your main colour, for example a feature wall, or woodwork. You are best looking above, below, left or right directly of the colour you’ve picked. They are almost certainly going go to go together perfectly.

Really enjoying my current project. This staircase has taken a lot of time to prepare for the actual painting. This shade is called ‘Juniper Ash’ by Little Greene. A gorgeous blue; warm & intimate, without being overwhelming. What do you guys think?

Here I’m filling the wood grain. By doing so, you achieve a very smooth finish once sanded & painted. I’m using Prestonett Ready Mixed Wood Filler - which is flexible, fibreglass reinforced filler for interior use. Quick drying & easy to sand.

Simple, yet effective concepts that make a job simple to complete is what I like. This sanding block comes with a variety of other profiles - ideal for retaining the contour as you remove nibs and smooth down. Search for ‘Contour Sanding Blocks’, should you want some too.

If you ever prep your woodwork and can’t be bothered to finish it. Tell everybody that’s how you wanted it to look. 😎

As just mentioned in my previous post. I sand my primer gently too once dry - this is known as ‘padding down’ and makes a big difference to the finish of your woodwork.
