It's a real sinking feeling when someone whose politics you don't know starts fishing to see if you're aligned, and you realize the reactionary rot got to them too. The state of the US takes a lot of my politics-headspace, but then you get hit with the reminders the rot is so present here too.

sometimes it seems like *user-friendly* design in synthesizers/effects/vsts/etc is when controls are less complex, which if obliged tends to end up as the design choice of combining several parameters into one on higher levels of abstraction. I'm increasingly convinced this harms more than it helps
