I think the worst part of AI, which is not including the scalping corporations buying up all the computer memory, is that the technology has not evolved at all, only trained on bigger and bigger datasets. It's like if early PCs got bigger and more wasteful with Moore's Law instead of smaller.

I'm thinking of putting down anatomy for a while just to practice hair for 5,000 years. This is probably the hardest part of the whole character drawing thing for me.

Also, funny how AI slop is actually helping me. The past year, I've been zooming deep into drawings to inspect them for AI slop hallmarks so I could block the account, and sometimes it's actually not AI and then I end up closely studying real art. The entitled and lazy pushed me to examine all art.

Slowly recalling all of my art learning by making the exact same mistakes is so on brand for me. But at least I remember a lot. But also a lot of things I once knew but forgot only came back to me through observation. Plus, without the feeling like I HAVE to do it the way that I learned...

I need to find some place to write down my investigations into AI slop machines like Transformers and Diffusions. The things I've found are... bad. Not just bad for the people who don't want it around, but, luckily, for the AI industry, which makes it a lot more likely that the bubble will pop.

Surprisingly managed to salvage the piece using a CSP model, I don't know if they fixed the controls but it was kinda easy to get into place and use it for reference. Then again it's a simple pose, and I got it kinda close already.

Having to start over feels a lot worse than starting from nothing... I'm so much more easily frustrated with mistakes now. But at least I'm still technically an artist. Having to relearn is a lot better than giving up and becoming an AI prompter.

Think I'm getting too ambitious with my return to drawing. Immediately tried a perspective shot and couldn't do it. I think maybe just 20 minutes of practice a day might not get me there lol.

Every time I look at this and see how much using a reference helped with drawing sexy ladies, I feel more motivated than ever to continue learning to draw. I can draw anime gorls I just need to peep some refreshers on hands, feet, and hair. The body and face are locked in for me now.

God I FUCKING LOVE learning new things that I can then put into practice and visibly show progress and share it with people even though it may not be to their standards but it's okay because you don't have to appease everyone because then you're appeasing no one including yourself!!!!!

Fun fact: different people learn differently so while everyone is capable of drawing art, the ways they get there vary wildly, so certain methods could just not work for you no matter how much you practice. Drawing every day can help but not if you're using a method that doesn't work for you.

I keep making my drawing too small and so my brushes always feel too big. But if I make the drawings bigger then my brushes feel too small. Is this a common issue or am I just overthinking this? I see drawings with such fine detail and here I am drawing everything as blobs.
