#wipwednesday Two projects cast on this week. Frøya sweater by Ingrid Dyb and Belyse mitts by Ysolda Teague. The brown yarn in the mitts was a gift my daughters brought me from Finland, handspun 50% wool, 50% alpaca, 100% sourced from Finland. 🧶 🥰 #knitsky

It’s blocking, yay! Autumn Leaves Linier Top by Cloud Forest Studio. Knit with Isager Alpaca 1 in Thyme, 2 strands held together. 4.5mm needles for the lace and 4mm for the body. Added garter edge along neckline w/3 needle bind off on wrong side to hide seam. #knitsky

#wipwednesday is Twist Loop Top by Other Loops in Knitting for Olive Pure Silk, color Powder. Making the top for my daughter to wear at a conference in Helsinki in June. Modified arm ribbing to be more bra friendly. 🧶 plus it has cables for #showmeyourknits

Project fail… Solene cardigan. I gauge swatched, but the size seemed off so I blocked before working on arms. Glad I did because it grew more than 6” in length and the arm holes were way too big. Should I try again with smaller needles. 🧶 is Yarnique Merino Wool. #knitsky

This started as a tank top, but I had extra yarn so I added sleeves and turned it into a tee, free tank top pattern is from knitcroaddict.com 🧶 Queensland Eco-twist in frosted linen I love the texture but it does split and for being a light color it released a lot of dye into the water. #knitsky

Socks are done, and the thicker cotton/acrylic yarn reminds me of early 90’s slouch socks. The color break is at a weird spot but that’s as far as I could get with the yarn I had on hand. The color shift is hidden by the strap on these slightly too wide shoes, which was a fun discovery.

Last night I cast on Florilegium Socks 🧦 which are the first pattern in the 2026 Golden Honey Sock Club by Lauren Rad. I am trying out Harmony Cotton by Yarneverse for the first time, a #2 fine weight 60/40 cotton acrylic blend. Pattern is great- still undecided about 🧶 #knitsky

Had to give my wrists a rest from Tunisian crochet… melt the ice hat is blocking. Also, Sylvester is “helping” me knit again. This is week three and he seems to have decided to stick around.

First attempt at Tunisian crochet. I didn’t realize how much more crochet stresses my wrists/arms than knitting. I do kind of love the texture though. 🧶

Meet Sylvester. A stray that started appearing sporadically on our porch and deck about 4 years ago. Super sweet. This month it made a bed in some boxes in the garage. I decided if temps went below zero I’d bring it inside, but then it vanished. Until today. #catsky

Recently I test knit a cat sweater. When complete, it was adorable but didn’t fit this big boy. I made several modifications to get this version which fits. Bowser might not love it, but he’s tolerating it with lots of flattery. 😂 (scroll for more) #knitsky 🧶

Both previous wips are now done! This is the Buttercup summer top by Heidi Kirrmaier in white mercerized cotton. I haven’t had issues with rowing out before, but with this 🧶- knitting flat or in the round- it was a constant issue. I finally accepted it, hoping it would mostly block out. #knitsky

Today’s project- a chunky knit throw blanket- is a Christmas gift for my youngest daughter. I tried using 25mm needles but ended up ditching them because it was much faster just using my fingers.

Summer top is blocking. My daughter tried it on when she was home for Thanksgiving so I was finally able to finish knitting it. I’ve posted all the details before so I’ll just say I’m happy to have it done before Christmas. 🧶

Today’s staycation treats: hot & iced coffee flights from The Modern Well in Lawton Shopping in downtown Paw Paw Tastings at St. Julian winery which led to us bringing home a growler of Gingerbread hard cider (it’s on sale!) Lunch at Paw Paw Brewing Co. Pro tip- the poutine is massive.

More staycation adventures: ☕️ iced & hot flights at 2nd & Main in Niles a few hours at the beach, then a yarn stop in Bridgman at Sandpiper. 🧶 gorgeous natural winter white baby suri alpaca/silk blend said take me home and how could I say no?
