Tonight’s random art post is an old, unused illustration for a short story by Caitlin R. Kiernan called Houndwife. I always liked the implied, but structurally unlikely twist of the millipede behind the figure’s neck. Ultimately, I went with something else.

So over winter and more than ready for spring. I spent the day making plans for creative work this year. Looking forward to sharing some new images and writing. Creativity is the through line.

A graphite sketch from yesterday. I used another version of this figure in artwork for a reissue of KoRn’s Untitled album a couple years ago.

Here’s a piece I did just before Covid hit called Wedding of the Earth and Sky. It’s a bit of a visual onslaught, but there are rewards for the patient viewer.

“Amnesiac’s Library” from some time ago. It was done on a large Arches hot press block. I’ve excavated the same block from my paper archive for a new piece. Stay tuned.
