A large theropod from the late Cretaceous, Abelisaurus is from South America. It is the namesake for the Abelisauridae family, which includes the carnotaurus!

Next up we have an aardwolf! A termite-eater, the aardwolf is a relative of hyenas. It does not scavenge from larger animals, despite often being seen near carrion and around decomposing corpses; instead, it is most likely eating the larvae and beetles.

Moving down my list to the aardvark! Aardvarks are nocturnal burrowers who live off ants and termites. The only fruit eaten by aardvarks are aardvark cucumbers, which they have a symbiotic relationship with.

Getting the urge to draw obscure animals so I found a list and started at the very top lmao. Meet aardonyx, an early Jurassic dinosaur from South Africa. This guy was one of the predecessors to the sauropods. Would've been about 6ft tall :))
