“Tailored to oral delivery” is key. Write papers in a conversational, listener-friendly voice, effective teacher voice. Not only makes for better conference papers but makes for better humanities writing in general.

For students as well as teachers. Responding to teachers and peers, thinking through ideas on your feet, developing your own ideas in DIALOGUE with others—critical skills practiced with joy that are marketable and transferable.
