There was a fire in an apartment near mine. Luckily contained to just that unit. Traumatic, nonetheless.

One of the safety apps I use tracks fires. It popped up a notification that said "Van Fire" and at first I thought it was an actual van on fire. No. Brush fire well north of me with that name.

Haven't been able to actually do my job for three weeks, and it'll likely be four before we're back up and running. Fairly major fire to the south of me, but we're getting some rain, so, kind of a silver lining. #LifeUpdate

Well, now. The 109th Indianapolis 500 pretty much had it all. Weird wrecks, a fire in the pits, cold weather, rain. Just weird.

It looks like it's time to bring this back...

It's been four years. Four desperately hard years since my father died. Not a day goes by that I don't think about him and mom. Mostly little things. But we survive. It's what we do.

I suppose I need to mention here, as I have on every social media platform I've ever been on. You get out of it what you put into it. Curate your feeds. Only view material from people you've personally followed. You can control the firehose, but it takes effort.

I took the garbage out a few minutes ago. It's in the 30s. I can hear an ice cream truck rolling down the street. At least the ice cream won't melt.

Bills are paid and there's still money in the bank. I call that a win.

Listening to bits of the "A Complete Unknown" soundtrack and I gotta say for the most part they found people who can not only sing but pull off passable sound-alikes of the people they're portraying. If anything Chalamet could have gone for more of the frontal, nasal sound that Dylan had early on.

The Twelve Days Of Christmas does make more sense if you realize all the gifts are birds.

My back is feeling a bit better. Still stiff in the morning, but getting there. Of course, that means I'm feeling a cold coming on.

Back's feeling a little better. Ache has localized to the left side and only really hurts when I stand up from sitting for a while (30+ minutes). Still taking it slow.

Of the things that piss me off, one that pisses me off the most is when people hog all the machines in the laundry room. I know nobody wants to be in there longer than we have to, but have some fucking consideration for others.

My Spotify Wrapped for 2024. Yes, I subscribe, and yes I listen a lot. The Chicago thing is almost totally due to finding the Carnegie Hall Complete set and listening to all *14 hours* of it multiple times.

One of the things that really irks me is when I look up lyrics to a song I know, that I've sung for years, that I've heard for years, and they're either wrong or they omit words for some odd reason.

Back's feeling a little bit better. Still twinges now and then and I can't sleep in my bed, but making slow progress.

This morning I managed to throw my back out by putting on a sock. A. Sock. How I managed this I'll never know. So, heat wraps and rest for the next couple of days.
